For Canadians our NBC affiliates (for me the Buffalo station WGRZ) is showing all three days.
I was trying to watch the golf/swimming/athletics last weekend and stupid NBC Detroit kept interrupting the events to update about thunderstorms, so I hope the weather is better this weekend.

I personally would rather send the strongest team we can in the team competition rather than just sigh and give up and hope for individual medals. We have one specialist spot just for that. It’s not like we have four men who are for sure going to medal in Tokyo if we just take a team of specialists and give up on the team event. And it’s not like the men who may make the team with that strategy have no shot of making event finals. If they make EF, who knows what can happen. Moldauer has an individual World medal on floor, for example. With 3-up and 3-count across six events, funny results have happened before and multiple times and I think with four member teams where you have less room for strategizing with event specialists, that can more be the case.

I think that any of the guys -- if they don't mess up -- can qualify for the medal round. But from what we've seen, it is hard to imagine any of them a lock for an individual medal.

Why does Tim Daggett have on a suit that looks so weird? It should have been tailored, right?

Oh, boy! More shots of Simone fumbling with her grips! 👍🤘

They are definitely showing more routines tonight and even going back and showing us a few things on tape delay that we missed at various points. I still feel like we're missing some stuff but it's not been horrible coverage overall IMO.
From the apparatus stream on NBCsports.com it looks like only two apparatuses are going on per rotation so not too much’s being missed. There was a bar routine they could have shown after Simone’s beam but can’t complain overall.

Simone could literally just sit on the floor then salute and she'd still go to the Olympics, but she was just otherwordly in that floor routine tonight.
So will we see all the Biles tonight - she's done three of the four. I'm thinking no on the vault since she hasn't trained it here.

Yeah, I think she's been training the Cheng here. Makes sense. No need to pound your ankles for what boils down to just a formality.

How did you watch that floor routine? I can't wait.
I just wish they would score her commensurate with her performance.

She did OK with uneven bars. She said in an interview that she has trouble reigning in her power. And, that doing bars after vault is really hard for her. Vault is a total power move, and bars are a swinging move, and she has trouble dialing that power in.

Just thinking how funny it would be if gymnastics was more like skating and stuffed animals came flying down from the audience - really disconcerting to the athletes competing on the other apparatus at the same time.
Mattel sold a Gabby Douglas and Laurie Hernandez Barbie. I can't believe they have done a Simone version. They'd be pretty painful if they rained down on the floor. Those pointy feet would hurt if they hit you in the face.
