Is this thread for all disciplines or is there still a separate one for the women?

Why would they put Ushakova / Nekrasov on the Junior Team when they cannot even compete there. I mean, why did they put Davis / Smolkin on the Reserves when they have never won against Ushakova / Nekrasov

The teams are mostly about funding as far as I know. It's happened before that people who aren't Jr eligible end on on the Jr team. I think Junior main team might mean better funding than Senior reserve team?

I thought it is the other way round, senior reserve is more than junior main team in funding.

I might be wrong, I just remember someone saying that in the past.
I seem to recall that in the past the best junior ladies were put in seniors reserve even when they still planned to compete at junior level, at JGP the following season. If junior main team was more than senior reserve, they would keep them in junior team for the funding.

Good allocations for the Svinin/Zhuk group, with Shevchenko / Eremenko making the main team over Morosov / Bagin and Shanaeva / Narizhnyy making the reserves over Ushakova / Nekrasov.

The results of Nationals determined that S/E would be in the main team and not M/B.
Thanks. But Junior Nationals results didn't help U/N, it appears. I guess it doesn't help that the three top junior teams are aging up on the back of injury/health issues and the disrupted season.

Tamara Moskvina's ice fantasies - a skating show to celebrate her 80th birthday - is scheduled for September, 26th. Maxim Trankov as a host, almost all top skaters as participants :)

Ksenia Stolbova works with Moskvina and Minchuk’s teams at the training camp in Sochi. Nikolai Morozov has already choreographed programs for one team (I assume, for B/K as in the three opus article Moskvina said that they already have two new programs) and is now working with the second one.
Ksenia is also listed as a part of Moskvina’s team in the latest list of Russian national team for Olympic season (athletes and coaches)

(and now this thread looks like Tamara Moskvina cheer thread  )

could it be a Stolbova/Minchuk tandem once Moskvina retires ?

Minchuk is mostly the technical and Stolbova is the face, sorta like Eteri w/ Dudakov in earlier years.

Dmitri Aliev interview by @Eislauffan:
Excerpt:
The Russian men can earn a third Olympic quota place at the Olympic qualifying competition Oberstdorf. Would you like to be the one to go there and get it?
I am ready for it. But it is not me who makes these decisions. I would go if they send me and I will prepare to be in a good condition and ready for Oberstdorf. This is the very first step of the new season and it is very important to earn three spots.
You have training camps in Kislovodsk in June and after that you’ll go to Latvia for another month. What is your approach to this season?
That is a very good question. I had a talk with my coach (Evgeni Rukavitsin), a rather personal one. I shared my view of figure skating and he also shared something. I hope that he understood me. I said that the next season is not just going to be difficult it is going to be the most difficult. I am trying to raise the bar, raise it a lot higher. I am very motivated. Right now I have a huge desire to present and express myself the way I really can. We are not judged by our practices. I really want finally to be able to show everything that I can do.
I am not saying that I am the king and God of skating, but I want to be pleased with myself and that people are really saying about me ‘he is skating great.’ I want to show the audience, in a huge arena, all my qualities from the best side. I want to stay focused in the training camps and come back with a result. Now the hardest time is starting, the most important and most responsible time. I understand that very well. I am positive about it and ready to take any blow from fate.

Artur Danielian interview by Ermolina/Flade on the Russian federation's website (June 4) - just realized the link was posted in the Programs/Choreographers thread but not here:
Google translated excerpt from the end:
Can you tell us about the new free program?
- Elena Germanovna threw off the music when I was at the training camp in Novogorsk. I asked: how do you? I listened, I liked it. I didn't even expect to be offered this. I thought it was some kind of Egypt, something eastern, but not Scheherazade. I do not know why. Such beautiful, strong music ... The program turned out to be cool ...
The old short one remains as a fallback for now. Next, let's look at the season. Now we need to get in shape, stabilize the jumps ...
It will be interesting to see. And now the gathering, preparation for the season?
- Yes, gathering in Novogorsk. Preparation. Of course, it is difficult to talk about myself, but it seems to me that during this time I have changed - I have become a little wiser. I began to focus more on my inner feelings, contact with the coaches became closer. Before I was afraid to say too much, I kept everything to myself, but now I realized: you can't get into someone else's head and you need to talk more. I became more open, more calm.
Now the main thing for me is to recover, roll out the programs, prepare for the skates. It is difficult, but I am ready to devote myself as much as possible to the cause so that everything is at the highest level. Because the next season is the season of the century, so you need to keep yourself in concentration, not only in training and competitions, but in principle in everything. Step to the left, step to the right and you can lose your balance, something will go wrong. Of course, it's not worth driving yourself to a crazy state, you just have to approach everything responsibly and move forward step by step.

Sorry I forgot to mention that he skated with her more recently, @Jeschke (I can't keep up with the Russian pairs - that's @hanca's specialty :p). Posted in the previous FRWL thread on Feb. 12:
The rumour on the Russian forum says that Balabanova/Sviatchenko have split up. To be fair, if it is true, it is probably the right decision. She was quite tall for him. Even though they were doing reasonably well, their long term prospects were quite limited. Someone mentioned that he has been seen skating with Labazina, which is weird because a month or two ago someone else saw her skating with Windsor. Was it just a tryout? And is this just a try out?

Yalin is looking for a partner on Russian ice partner search. So the partnership with Vislobokova didn’t last very long, it was a long shot. She was too tall for him and struggling with jumps.
