His new FS also used another Tomita's piece from 1972 historical drama.Yuzuru will skate to 'Let Me Entertain You' by Robbie Williams for his short program [choreo by Jeffrey Buttle] and 'Heaven and Earth' by Isao Tomita [choreo by Shae-Lynn Bourne] for his free skate this season. Great choices, I can't wait to see his new programs! I hope he stays safe at Nationals. Good luck to him!
Yuzuru's new SP at Japan Nationals, he is skating to "Let me entertain you" by Robbie William: https://youtu.be/GAFeVmIQLqwIs he skating at the nationals? The lust says ‘Bye’ after his name. What does it mean?
Maybe Pooh has been coaching him? Whatever works lol.Yuzuru just scored 319 points after 319 days of no competitions. https://twitter.com/allaboutyu_zu/status/1342818378860269570?s=20
To be honest, I am still baffled, no coach, no competition in 10 months. This is surreal.

Yuzuru said he still sent his practice video to his coaches in Canada for advice. But training alone is really difficult and crazy being all alone in those months, and there was a long time he felt devastated as he could not jump anything (which last till October and November). I have no idea how he managed to get over that time and get back his quads. Good for him to pull through this time. Maybe someone will upload full translation of his interviews soon.Maybe Pooh has been coaching him? Whatever works lol.
I could not rephrase everything he said in the press conference, there are people translating it we will soon get the full interview in English. In short, he said he could not jump anything for a while when he was training alone, he did mention his leg hurting but it seems more like fatigue after training for long without advisors by his side. You know he said he could not invite his coaches to Japan in the middle of such a difficult time, he also wanted to stay safe and did not travel much as he has asthma so the disease might be bad for him.@meioma He couldn't jump anything because of injury or COV!D logistics?
Just a small note, Yuzuru is supposed to play the role of Uesugi Kenshin, he was one of the most powerful daimyos of the Sengoku period. In short, he was a Samurai. Wiki on this character: Uesugi Kenshin - WikipediaJust watched Yuzuru’s LP. Wonderful.
Couldn't agree more. I had just about given up on seeing Hanyu compete this season. And, then, he does and presents us with this! What a gift in the season of giving. My God. Hanyu is simply amazing. To pull two amazing performance together with new programs and no live coaching for 10 months - wow!
yes there’s room for improvement, but Hanyu is raising his game to compete with Chen and I love every minute of it!
Mine too. Sometimes I feel the judges don’t give him enough PCS credit. After seeing this and the Russian women today, my Christmas is complete. Thank you, Yuzu. That was epic - the control and intensity were out of this world.
BEST HD quality ofI wanted to post on Facebook a link to Yuzuru’s fabulous LP but I can’t get it anymore.
Quoting myself because I have found the translation of Yuzuru's words on this character:Just a small note, Yuzuru is supposed to play the role of Uesugi Kenshin, he was one of the most powerful daimyos of the Sengoku period. The thing is, there is a theory that Uesugi Kenshin might have been a woman so... you see all the flower and feminine traits in his costume this time. The music is from this movie it seems Heaven and Earth (1990 film) - Wikipedia
This FS is about a true Samurai, in contrast to Seimei which was about a shaman. I just want to make it clear since many people might mistakenly think of them as the same. From an Asian point of view, the two programs are very different. They are both about real historical figures in ancient Japan but they happened to live in different eras. Seimei is about a shaman fighting demons. "Heaven and Earth" on Uesugi Kenshin is more about human struggle and internal conflicts.
Translated by shinistarxxYuzuru: While (Uesugi Kenshin) was called the "god of war" and seemed to also understand the thrill of fighting/competing, there was the conflict in the fact he seemed to always be aware of the accompanying sacrifices that resulted from his battles, and that he had a sense of values regarding battle very much resonates with me and so I thought that maybe this is the reason I can express this (sense of) overlap in my current self's "competitions", as of they are "battles".
