I'd be astonished if P&C were actually there.
Patinage Magazine states that Papadakis/Cizeron, Lauriault/Le Gac, Wagret/Souquet and Maé-Bérénice Méité will not travel from abroad to participate in the Masters (Oct. 1-3) but are scheduled to compete at IdF in Grenoble (Nov. 13-15) and Nationals (Dec. 17-19): https://www.instagram.com/p/CE6oVjWoRb1/

ETA to add link to the updated list of Masters entries and the preliminary event schedule (Thursday-Saturday): https://www.ffsg.org/IMG/pdf/effectifs_masters_2020.pdf

Also noticed that Bratti/Couyras are no longer listed in Senior Dance (they train in the WISA group in VA/MD but are not mentioned along with the other Canada/USA-based skaters on page 3 of the updated list).

Mitch Islam and Kevin Wu chatted with Maé-Bérénice Méité for their latest "Beyond the Rink" podcast:
... Maé talks about her upbringing, the move to the US, Figure Skating Diversity and Inclusion Alliance and her favorite wine from France. Truly always happy and with such a positive outlook on life, it was a blast getting to catch up with her.
She shared clips from her new programs on her Instagram recently:

Probably because Bratti is in US and Couyras in France ... travel restrictions

Looks like there have been things going on behind the scenes at the FFSG - this just crossed my explore page on Instagram and is also on the FFSG website (translation by Google because my languages brain is not working today):

A renewed confidence in Nathalie Péchalat, President of the French Federation of Ice Sports. This is how we can interpret the approval, over 83%, of the new statutes of the FFSG, this Sunday, October 11, during an Extraordinary General Assembly organized by videoconference and under bailiff due to the crisis. sanitary and economical.

"Thank you to all of you for coming forward, thank you for your enthusiasm and your confidence, Nathalie Péchalat said. This result encourages us to continue working hard, in the right direction and all together! "

Another satisfaction for the team in place, the approval of the eight resolutions of the Ordinary General Meeting that followed, including the minutes of the Elective General Meeting of March 14, 2020 (at more than 87%), the Regulations Internal (nearly 86%) or the Financial Regulations (almost 96%).

Via another Instagram post I picked up that one of the new statutes approved was a term limit for Presidents - three terms maximum, I think.

EDIT: L'Equipe article (in French) on the topic. Oh, this is good: it is a three-term limit for Presidents, and what that means is, explicitly, that Didier Gailhaguet cannot stand for the Presidency in 2022. The article says that he emailed all the clubs last Thursday asking (telling) them to reject these changes, and they ignored him, how beautiful.

That's mean to watch a man down ! (give him a kick instead ....) :saint:

The Autum Cup recently was the first gathering of the french dancers of all ages. Villard de Lans withdrew, probably because of the ******* situation. But my main interest was the very first outing of Lila-Maya Seclet-Monchot and Martin Chardain.

RD

FD

They have barely started to skate together so it’s quite bland and basic but one can see that they come from the same school of Chalons en Champagne and that they are matching quite well. They are currently training in Lyon Baraban (the rink of the competition) with Fabian Bourzat. It will take them 4 years before they can be a developped ice dance couple. It's gonna take some work.

I’m still mourning Mathlide Grandin / Martin Chardain. They were so cute together and the specificity of the Chalons-en-Champagne school (Barbara Piton) is that it grows couples instead of individuals who need re-pairing when things starts to get serious, like in the other french dance centers. They were ready for the junior level. Now eveything needs to be rebuilt. sigh
I hope she’ll go on and find herself a good partner.

Grandin Chardain 2015

Grandin Chardain 2016 (mini-Gwendal, lol)

Grandin Chardain 2017

Grandin Chardain 2018

Grandin Chardain 2019

My own little pleasure from the 2020 Autumn Cup : Dania Mouaden and Théo Bigot, from Chalons too, so cute

Maé-Bérénice Méité chats with Mitch Islam and Kevin Wu in episode 6 of the Beyond The Rink podcast, published Oct. 5, 2020:

News thread from yesterday: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/threads/2020-idf-has-been-canceled.107687/

I posted a French article in there (post #21) that included the sentence "The FFSG has already announced that its 2021 edition [of Internationaux de France GP] will be held in Grenoble."

Press release today (Nov. 16, 2020):

The French Elite Championships and the Christmas Gala, which were to take place in Vaujany between December 17 and 22, 2020, are officially canceled.

The health measures and conditions linked to the C0vid-19 p*ndemic, the instability of the situation and the resulting budgetary restrictions have pushed the municipality of Vaujany and the French Federation of Ice Sports to make this difficult but reasonable decision.

While waiting for the directives of the International Skating Federation (ISU), which should be known in mid-December, the National Technical Directorate is working on the organization of "Teams of France" groups for the upcoming selections. French Elite Championships in another format are also under consideration.

FFSG will conduct a test skating at Cergy December 19-20 to select their international chamipionships participants:

Le Challenge 2020 de patinage artistique et danse sur glace se tiendra à Cergy les 19 et 20 décembre.
Re-posting here from the "feasibility" thread:
There are talks about having Nationals held in February. Somewhere not yet decided as it is not easy to find a city and a rink that will agree to help with the organization. I assume we will learn more at next week test skate in Cergy-Pontoise.
Villard De Lans Vercors Patinage's FB page has a list of participants and schedule for this weekend's challenge skate in Cergy-Pontoise: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=2764036207189879&id=1629638670629644

The list is OK for the exception of juniors Sophie Sprung and François Pitot who are no show. I don't know why. Yet. The huge surprise of the day, I mean HUGE 😳😳😳 is Ponsart beating Aymoz by 13.55 pts. Romain had a great skate and Kevin's SP was a disaster, Euros/Graz-like...

Aymoz had a rough SP last week at Winter Star (jumps were 3T, 2S, 3A) and overcame a 10-point deficit to win - Team France's results last week in Minsk:

Gold - Kevin AYMOZ FRA 257.44 2 (76.92) 1 (180.52) - link to his FS protocol: http://www.figure.skating.by/competition/Winter_Star_2020/WS20_Men-Senior_FS_Scores.pdf
Silver - Julia WAGRET / Pierre SOUQUET FRA 172.02 2 (69.69) 2 (102.33) - John Kerr is with them in France now (they now are based at the Iceberg Skating Academy in Pembroke Pines, Florida)
Bronze - Maia MAZZARA FRA 148.65 5 (51.79) 3 (96.86)

Yes I know, we discussed it at length. It was the same at the test skate in Grenoble. But Ponsart was way behind nonetheless and so was Adam Siao Him Fa. Frankly here today, no one expected Romain to beat them both and with a comfortable margin: 86.19 vs 72.64 (SHF 71.70). Romain had clean 4T/3T, 3A, 3LZ. Kevin popped everything poppable... including his usually wonderful 3A.
Silver - Julia WAGRET / Pierre SOUQUET FRA 172.02 2 (69.69) 2 (102.33) - John Kerr is with them in France now (they now are based at the Iceberg Skating Academy in Pembroke Pines, Florida)

It's kind of funny to see John Kerr here in Cergy. It seems that working with W/S did them some good. They are lighter on their feet and more relaxed.
Bronze - Maia MAZZARA FRA 148.65

Second surprise (this one was expected but maybe for later) Maïa flattened Léa Serna with 54.26 vs 49.02. Léa has just changed her boots and it's killing her, her feet look like meatloaf 😱

No, they don't unfortunately. It's more a family reunion and a "home challenge" than a competition.

@cholla Any updates about today's skates? I know it's just test skates but we cannot be choosy these days :)
Yes ! Things got way better for Kevin who had a good free skate while Romain's performance wasn't on par, unlike yesterday. Adam Siao Him Fa is 3rd. (Didn't see his FP as I was busy with another skater). In the ladies competitîon, Mazzara remained ahead of Serna. Surprise surprise : Galyavieva/Thauron were beaten (by a few points) by Lopareva/Brissaud who really are rocketting like comets when Lauriault/Le Gac are falling behind. I'll be back later with more details (it's very late and I have a 6/7 hours drive back home tomorrow).
