We got a lot of rain and wind in the middle of the night when the first outer bands showed up, but by morning it was steady rain and mild winds, and it ended by 2-3 pm. It passed at sea so no damage at all. Lucky.
It could have 90 MPH winds when it arrives. If you've weathered a strong Nor'easter you'll be OK with this storm if you take sensible precautions. Good luck, but this should be a survivable experience.
NJL ( I find it hard to believe I am giving hurricane advice to Nova Scotians.... …)
ETA: There is a low pressure area west of the Cape Verde Islands that could become a tropical cyclone in the next few days. Projected track may take it over the Lesser Antilles into the Caribbbean……)

I took your map out to save space to say -
The best FB meme (today!) is a plastic table and chairs in a yard with a chair knocked over explaining that that is from the hurricane in Alabama. The comments underneath are LOL. There are lots of things with sharpie drawings on them too. People are so clever.
A storm surge accompanying Dorian produced waves estimated to be 50 feet high, jeopardizing coastal villages. Online maps posted by utilities in Nova Scotia and the neighboring provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island showed that more than 450,000 locations were without electricity on early Saturday evening, the result of wires being knocked down by intense winds before the storm made landfall.
Good! Dorian seemed to decide to amp up to Cat 2 (100 MPH sustained winds) before it made landfall just to be cantankerous in its old age. I'll be glad when Dorian gets into the North Atlantic to die. We've all had enough of it.

ETA: The NHC has some weather by the Southern Bahamas that has a chance to become something eventually. It is worth watching in SoFL. The disturbance off of Africa is now about half way across the Atlantic with a 50-50 chance of development. It's projected track is more southwest towards TnT and Venezuela. We will see if that continues...
We just got power back! Still no internet though. I guess something happened to Eastlink? I couldn’t even get any data until half an hour ago, so I haven’t been able to see how much damage there is around the province.
