Hold on to your fascinators, it could be a snarky ride! It's Royal Wedding Day! Wheeee!

The kids were fantastic.
Charlotte is too darn cute for words.

Liked the pageboys wearing mini versions of the uniform Harry and William wore.

In case nobody knows, there's been a hilarious instagram account by Hollywood writer/producer Gary Janetti the last few weeks, telling all the wedding lead-up from Prince George's very sarcastic point of view.

The grey horse on the right in front of the carriage is making me nervous. It looks really skittish.

To those whining about the service, I'm sure this has been rehearsed down to the minute, so it's exactly what the couple getting married wanted. And good for them. It's their wedding.

Right, it had to have been rehearsed. However, the real ceremony is different from the rehearsal. Reading what Curry said will maybe be better than his delivery. He started well, but went a bit off the rails, IMO. But it doesn't matter in the end.

I was just saying I love that she's not "perfect" and together all the time like Kate. While still being stunningly beautiful.

She's a role model for all of us with wavy, bit unruly hair.
She certainly is completely unfazed by it. She is extremely well-suited for her role as a royal. Seems to come naturally to her

I am so happy for everyone - bridal party, guests and onlookers - that the weather has behaved itself in the UK today. Trying to spot my relatives in the police who have been seconded to guard duty in Windsor for the day. Hopeless task

I was thinking if Meghan’s hair needed fixing I could only imagine how mine would be lol.

Wishing them the best of happiness. :)

Will catch up on this thread later - have managed to watch a little bit when doing my makeup/getting dressed, and at work now with my ipad propped up while I get the bookstore ready to start the day. The dress! The cellist! The drive about! The perfect sunny day! The Queen in lime!
Hopefully there will be a repeat on CBC or CTV later tonight so I can see it all.
Going to set up all our royal books on the counter now!
Have a lovely day FSU!

Guess the next big British royal wedding will be in 25 years or so when George/Charlotte/Louis get married.
Princess Eugenie is getting married this fall, but that will probably be on a smaller scale.

All the European royals are now married, too. I guess no more royal weddings until the next generation are old enough, except maybe Charlotte in Monaco?

Her Majesty The Queen is giving a Lunchtime Reception at St George's Hall in Windsor Castle for around 600 guests drawn from the Wedding Service congregation.

Poached Free Range Chicken bound in a Lightly Spiced Yoghurt with Roasted Apricot
Croquette of Confit Windsor Lamb, Roasted Vegetables and Shallot Jam
Warm Asparagus Spears with Mozzarella and Sun-Blush Tomatoes

Guests will also be served a selection of bowl food, including:

Fricassee of Free Range Chicken with Morel Mushrooms and Young Leeks
Pea and Mint Risotto with Pea Shoots, Truffle Oil and Parmesan Crisps
Ten Hour Slow Roasted Windsor Pork Belly with Apple Compote and Crackling

Sweet canapés will also be served, including:

Champagne and Pistachio Macaroons

The wedding cake will also be served at the Reception. Designed by Claire Ptak, the wedding cake features elderflower syrup made at The Queen’s residence in Sandringham from the estate’s own elderflower trees, as well as a light sponge cake uniquely formulated for the couple. A filling made from Amalfi lemon curd and elderflower buttercream ties all the elements together. The cake is decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream and 150 fresh flowers, mainly British and in season, including peonies and roses.

To drink, guests will be served Pol Roger Brut Réserve Non Vintage Champagne, and a selection of wines. A range of soft drinks will also be served, including an apple and elderflower mocktail, made with the same elderflower syrup as used in the wedding cake, and Sandringham Cox's apple juice.

The Reception will include the cutting of the wedding cake and speeches from The Prince of Wales, Prince Harry and Ms. Markle. The Duke of Cambridge, who is the Best Man, will act as compere for the Reception.

Oh yes. Much longer. I love that Meaghan's culture and her mother's are part of her wedding.
The Most Reverend Michael Curry isn't "just any" Bishop.
He is the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in the USA.
Requested by Meghan.

It was an extraordinary ceremony.
A reflection of their love and commitment to each other; as well as to the work they will be doing.

There’s something satisfying in hearing Meghan’s American accent. I am not completely sold on the dress but the tiara, veil, and bracelet are stunning.

Is Meghan having a bit of hair mulfunction? Seems a few stray locks are falling out of place.

I love that she helped push the ring down her finger

I'm not sold on the dress either. There is classic and simple and then there is so plain that it didn't quite need a designer. I feel like this one landed on the second. And it doesn't seem very original. I do like the veil and the choice of tiara was unexpected and lovely.

Someone on MSNBC just went on for a long while about what revolutionary person Meghan is for picking a female designer for a royal wedding dress. Because apparently Elizabeth Emanuel (Diana), Lindka Ciarach (The Duchess of York) and Sarah Burton (Kate) are either not female or didn't actually design the dresses now.

I'm so tired of her hair being a mess. No, I don't find it relatable. I find it sloppy. And I find it weird that elsewhere on the web, the same people who pick apart Kate if she has a hair out of place or they think the hem was not perfectly done on her dress find Meghan's messy hair to be the most amazing thing ever. The double standard emerging for them is so strange.

I think Kate chose the perfect hat because if she looked down even a little, you couldn't see her facial expressions. Not that there is anything wrong with her demeanor, but it seems she managed to nit upstage anyone while still being well put together.

Oh get a grip, @PDilemma ! Every woman bar the favoured few know the struggle of getting tiffed to the max and then a gust of wind spoiling the whole thing!

Meghan seems to be stuck in permanent wind gusts in an area not known for wind. And her hair is often quite intentionally a mess with pieces sticking out of the back of an up do. A look that I see daily on high school girls. But she is nearly 37 and newly a Duchess. Time to give up the high school girl hair.

She's an accomplished woman in her thirties who is now a Duchess. She can do whatever she wants.
