Biatch stole my moves!

What about Irina stealing Michelle's SP music for the 2006 Olympics? Totentanz--the same cut and performer.

Wasn't that just a coincidence? Slutskaya did the GP series and Kwan had ample time to change the SP, but her being injured and not being in optimal shape may have hindered those plans.

I don't think so. It wasn't exactly the most common music at the time.

I think Tarasova picked that music for Kwan and later found out Irina was using it as well. I'm not sure if there was stealing involved though and in the mid 2000s, Mrvica became like the "it" arranger for some reason sort of like Vanessa Mae and Irina used his pieces for her LP the year before (and the year before that).

I am shocked and disgusted that language like biatch is allowed here!

Surely you were exposed to worse language in the Navy (amongst other things)?

This language is as offensive as what USFA did to Ross Minor!

Can you even begin to fathom how many men will steal Ross's funky short program and Queen medley next season!? :eek:

I have not been so shocked and disgusted since my wife and I were watching TV and there was a hole show where men were dressed as women competing to win money and wigs, awful!

Hole show. :rofl:

We used to have a hole show on my navy boat every time we crossed the Inter National Date Line! But I do not speak of those day's of seamen explorations now that I am married to my forever-wife.

What an odd collection of hangups to put all together?

- The word bitch but written as if being said with an attitude.

- The results of selecting an Olympic Team. (Which I did not agree with. I thought Ross did deserve to be on the team if US Nationals was in fact an important competition. However, apparently US Nationals is no more important than Skate America.)

- A show about drag.

Why do you think these go together?

Thank you for writing such a sincere argue-ment in response to my posts! I am confused by what you say but I am very glad that you took my word's so serious. And I am also glad that we agree about Ross Minor.

PS What does Brad Toob mean? I know what a brad is and what a tube is but not what they together are meanings, it is interesting though! My wife and I are both confused.

The Bolero series:

Torvill & Dean - patiently waiting for the little flower girl to exit the ice. :lol:

Michelle Kwan

Carolina Kostner

It's pretty much a universal opinion that T&D own the copyright to this piece, but Caro did a heck of a job. As to who performed better, it's all subjective I suppose.

T&D's 'Bolero' is iconic, at least to the fans. But skaters may not see it the same way, or probably do not. They wouldn't all skate to the old warhorses that have been done over and over again if they didn't feel they could bring something unique to it.

And skaters may not be as aware of iconic programs as fans. I remember when S/Z skated to 'Meditation from Thais' (sp?), I think it was in 2007? IIRC they were not even aware of B/S's 'Meditation' from 2001/2.

Or, skaters may be aware of an iconic performance to a certain piece of music and have other reasons for skating to it. For example, I really wondered about S/H choosing to skate to 'Turandot'. I figure they must have been aware of S/Z iconic performance to that music. I am sure they explained their choice in interviews, but if so, I never read or saw those.

But, it occurred to me that a) they wanted to challenge themselves to be as good as S/Z, b) wanted to distinguish themselves with their own iconic performance, or c) wanted to pay tribute to S/Z. In any case, I did feel that they took ownership of the music and made it their own, which is a tribute to their talent and commitment as a team.

For the glasses - optional, I actually wrote Stritch stole my moves! The late Broadway diva was allegedly - known for appropriating a thing or two!

My God, I can't believe they (W&Z) had the nerve to do that. That's crazy.

Yeah especially to do it the year right after Anissina & Peizerat. It's not like it was years later when people might not remember the program!

I don't know what a "minstrel" is but it sounds fancy! Over all, I find this answer to be very confusing. It seems that you might be saying you are also a "minstrel" - also as in "too," but then what is the B for? Boy? Bacon? Believer? Or may be it is like "to be" is in you have goal of being a "minstrel" some day but instead of "to be" you made a type-o and wrote "too b", so many strange names people have on this sight, my wife and I have long debates about them.

Another example, a very exotic and "clever" poster named Titanic Aroma who said mean things to me when I first became a member here. What does it mean? What could it mean? Who can answer? It is hard!

20 years ago I selected a screen name on a defunct computer system that was supposed to mean "bard to be" but bardtobe was not allowed for some reason. I chose bardtoob because it was supposed to be for my use only, so I did not care. {{shrug}}

After 13 years and about 12,500 posts here, what is there to correct. It is my name here. People use it to refer to me, quote me, insult me ... {{shrug}}

I really liked Flatt's EoE. :shuffle: No, she isn't Michelle Kwan, but I appreciated how invested she appeared to be, and that footwork sequence is energetic as hell. :)
Racheal was awful in that program, a total disaster and her costume looked like it was made out of flourescent dog urine! The only skater who could of done justice to East of Eden aside from Michelle Kwan was Anastasiya Galustyan, hopefully she will use it some day.

I really do wonder if they just ripped that cut from one of those figure skating music YouTube videos using a convert from flv to mp3 site.
