They named her to the Oly team, they gave her a spot in the team event (which gave her an opportunity to get out in the public eye in the early days of the Games), and they promoted her on their social media. I'm guessing they weren't thrilled with her comments about DWTS and her dissing her teammates, which is likely why she apologized/walked back on those a few days later.

Please, that girl gave them the performance, a history making moment and tons of NBC publicity leading into the ladies event. They weren't going to get this publicity and excitement out of Bradie.

FWIW, if you read T/M's interviews, they say they felt perfectly satisfied with the Candyman program and brushed off the criticism. Whether they SHOULD have been satisfied with it is another matter. But it doesn't sound like they internalized any outside opinions.

Just the fact that they were defensive says it all! If you are defensive you have internalized all criticism and are constantly thinking about it!

I thought S&M were planning to be at worlds?

Can you imagine Zabijako and Enbert winning silver or even gold if S&M are not there? Or Yu Zhang winning the world championship?

T&M have not done well in the past when they were the favorites, so it will be better for many reasons if S&M show up for worlds. At their 80 percent they can still win.

Is the North Korean pair going to be at worlds? They may have an outside shot at the bronze.

Oh, I don't think so. As much as I like them, they aren't there yet. Even with a depleted field, several teams would need to implode for them to end up on the podium. Of the teams who should be at Worlds, they were 11th at the Olympics. They were more than 10 points back of seven of those teams and ~20+ points back of 5 of those teams. And there's also K/O at Worlds who beat them at 4CC.

I am a big Konstantinova fan but she is one of the luckiest skaters this year. Both of her placements at Nationals, which allowed her go to Junior and Senior Worlds, were big gifts. Funny she can get such big assignments despite the competition she faces at home.

Well, if that's the case I'd say it's a good decision to stay out. Surgery is never fun.
