He doesn’t have to say trash or terrible for the point to be understood! Everyone is directed to understand b/s should not be near any medal! They are low quality.

There were 7 teams below them I think! They are the worst example of Choctaw? Maybe they are to him or it’s advocacy!

I think men's was a bit off. I would like to see higher PCS for Fernandes, I think he deserved it.
 
Definitely ice dance will be controversial, starting with P/C and V/M if both are ¨ clean ¨

He didn't say they were the 'worst' though. He said it was an inferior pattern to V/M's, which it obviously was, and is also true of the majority of other teams.

Depends on the performance. I like B/S FD and they do a good job with it, but turns out, C/B FD works more than expected... I'm saying that based on this season (which means prejudging, don't hate me it's wrong), it's Shibs vs H/D.

Yes, and it's not mean at all, he did not compared C/L or B/S. (It's not insulting either :confused:)
I actually prefered B/S pattern in 2012 IIRC.

I`m actually glad that there is a little break. Men and especially pairs were so emotionally draining, that I need time to recover for dance. Dance is going to be tough to watch. For so many teams I like, this will be their last chance to ever medal at the Olympics. I would be over the moon if Weaver/Poje somehow managed to win the Bronze, but I would also be happy for Hubbell/Donohue or Bobrova/Soloviev. B/S were never for me the most naturally talented skaters and I do have issues with their Short Dance, but throughout the years they did everything to improve and fought to become and remain Russian #1. Besides, they have a lovely Free Dance, so if they are the team winning Bronze, I would be happy for them. :)

Yes but poor B/S as they are made example of being inferior to v/m when so so so many others could be! Lol.

Lol. That’s impossible. This board will be melting down over all the medal spots, plus all those that didn’t make the podium.
 
Starting order can, indeed, have an impact.

But going up after the top teams in the world doesn't always benefit the teams to follow. I would not count on either B&S or C&L to make the final flight after the short program. I love their FDs, but their short dances have not proven to be top 5 this season. Teams will have to skate for that final flight.

Well I wouldn’t have the feeling of a whole nations program and skaters being kicked while they are down! I mean this is the worst era for Russian ice dance ever but it still being seen as unjustifiably successful!

I think B/S and C/L were already in the top five before Euros, actually. B/S were for sure.

As for who will miss the cut, I'd say the Israeli team for sure. Then a good chance that Ma/Ce will and maybe My/Cs too. Then probably one of W/L, A/U, M/G, L/P, L/LG or K/S. Their average SD scores are close enough this season that it's probably whoever has the roughest skate / misses levels. If I had to guess, I'd say T/Z, Ma/Ce, My/Cs and either L/P or M/G.

Part of the problem is that we are led to believe that judging takes factors outside of the actual performance into account, unlike every other discipline.

I hope for M/G to make the cut, so that they can skate their FD :) Otherwise I do agree with you but for L/P I don't know, maybe the Turkish team A/U might not make it too... And this is considering everyone clean !

Is there a realistic shot for Guignard/Fabbri to take over Gilles/Poirier ? :cold:

I would like to see them qualify for the FD for this reason also, but I think the odds aren't good. All the lower teams were at Nebelhorn, and even with the Slovakian and Korean representatives on the tech panel, both teams barely made the cut. And they needed their free dance scores to pull up into the running.

Min & Gamelin might be close enough to the higher-ranked teams that a mistake from someone else might be enough to get them in; but I wouldn't really like to see that either. Lorenz & Polizoakis have a gorgeous FD that I would hate to miss seeing in the free also. Hoping if M&G don't make the cut that maybe Korea will invite them to skate their free dance in the gala.

A hesitant yes.

Guignard & Fabbri's season's best is almost six points higher than Gilles & Poirier's. G&P had a really rocky GP season, snagging both the tough caller at Skate America and a tough away matchup against Stepanova & Bukin at home in Russia. I would expect good improvement scorewise so much later in the season. (Plus with an upset win over Weaver & Poje at Canadian Nationals). But Guignard & Fabbri are coming off a great Europeans with their own upset win in the FD over Cappellini & Lanotte. We've yet to see how the international judges will react to the changes Gilles & Poirier have made to their free dance. They could love them & bump the scores way up as happened at the 2016 Worlds or they could not. (G&P haven't earned above a level two on the rhumba pattern internationally this season, and this panel was not giving anyone the benefit of the doubt on the pattern during the team event).

Guignard & Fabbri have a shot.

It has been like this since their first Grand Prix in China... there was no words on this or a possible injury but the strap is still there :(
If there was any injury there were right to keep it on the down low and not make any excuses for a potential low marking.

I think it looks more like a non-latin superhero. But Madison makes anything look amazing.
When I think of Tropical Bird Costumes I can only think of Tessa & Scotts original Great Gig in the Sky costume. She looks like she is taking flight on the lifts. Then of course they
were told the outfit was too too so they were talked into wearing plain black outfits which supposedly would show off their lines better.

I remember the tape from one of their Grand Prixs, but I don't recall her leg being taped at Nationals. The place where Madi is taped is where Evan holds her leg and pulls her toward him near the beginning of their FD. It's also the same spot, same leg he holds her by in the final spin of their tango show program. They didn't change the choreo of the FD or tango to accommodate the taped lower leg at the grand prix. So whatever the trouble is, apparently it's not something so serious that Madi can't be held, pulled, and even swung by that lower leg.

My guess would be some kind of nagging problem such as tendonitis. But who knows.
