What song are you listening to?

After 5 minutes of commercials, Yellow Submarine............

You know I am a Beatle freak, but I've never really liked any of the childish/novelty songs like that one (even when I was a child) Rocky Racoon is another.

I can't think of more examples while listening to Please Mr. Postman now!

Edited to add - Good grief - 3 songs later - Rocky Racoon............

Louis Tomlinson - Back To You...amazing! And randomly heard Taylor Swift's new bop on the rare occasion I was listening to the radio this morning. Not bad!

Miley effing Cyrus - Younger Now
(Song, not album)

To balance that out, I've been listening to Bananarama's 1st album, Shakespeare's Sister, Alison moyet, Hüsker Dü, nirvana, and Billy Idol.

Tool - Sober
Breaking Benjamin - Lights Out
Alan Parsons Project - Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Evanescence - My Immortal
David Garret - The 5th, Asturias
Kansas - Play the Game, Fight Fire with Fire, Leftoverture
It's Friday night and it's wine and music and I am all alone and totally happy. :)

Two Black Cadillacs by Carrie Underwood.

That song is making me want to stop going to the gym. It doesn't matter what time of day I go. It's always playing at least twice before I get out.

Right now I'm stuck on Kaleo's album A/B. I seriously didn't expect them to be from Iceland.

When I get tired of Kaleo I am usually playing anything from Imagine Dragons.

Superstar - The Carpenters. #2 song with week in 1971.

I know what #1 is going to be - Maggie May. I haven't heard it yet this morning. It's the ultimate October song. And it reminds me of going with my baton teacher to help her teach at the YMCA............

Announcer: Englishman........could have been a soccer player........1969 solo.........then Faces............third week in a row at #1.............duh! :-)

I heard this song the other day...

Nick Lowe - Cruel To Be Kind

...and it made me think of other songs from around that time that are new-waveish (or kinda so)...

Gary Numan - Cars

I'm a huge new wave genre music. One of favorites is Cars by Gary Numan. I love obscure or lesser know new wave songs like...
Echo Beach by Martha and The Muffins https://g.co/kgs/N7DZrU
Lips Like Sugar by Echo and the Bunnymen. https://g.co/kgs/u7661q
Everything Counts by Depeche Mode. https://g.co/kgs/d2P3ds

Anything by Duran Duran but I love girls on film and planet earth. https://g.co/kgs/LdDRva and https://g.co/kgs/LdDRva

ETA: I am huge fan of The Cure too. Anyone else a fan of Robert Smith and the Cure?

'Charlotte Sometimes' and 'Fascination Street' are my fave Cure Songs. Never seen them live yet.

Just saw Depeche Mode live for the first time. Mostly played new stuff which is not very good. But they did play 'Everything Counts' which is the oldest song they played. Can't believe they left out 'Just Can't get Enough' and 'People Are People' which are their signature songs. They did play my fave song 'Never Let Me Down'.

Omarion - Distance

I can't imagine anyone not wanting to work a bit harder when this one comes on at their gym. Especially if you could watch the video and see him move, which would inspire you to put at least a little more oomph into your workout! :D

Wow, I've seen Depeche Mode once live. David Gahan has always been attractive and he's aging quite nicely. Quite the treat.

As for the Cure, I like the songs you mentioned and some of my favs are "Just Like Heaven"(of course), 'A night like this', 'the kiss', 'one more time' and closedown.

Still think Sia's version of "California Dreaming" is haunting and actually better than the Mama's and the Papa's version...

Scheherazade - The young prince and the princess

It was on radio yesterday morning and I am still humming it.
