I thought Tuktamysheva was doing it again. ?
Also, Starr Andrews has gone senior nationally and is going for it too.
I wonder if Mirai would consider a 3Z-2T-2L for the 3 jump combo and a 2A-3T. I think she has done 2T-2L on the back end of 3 jump combos before. A point is a point

Mirai to go for 3axel in SP today and also tomorrow in free.
"Maybe Friday's short program at the U.S. International Figure Skating Classic?
"Absolutely," Nagasu said. "If I can land it in practice, why not go for it in competition."
Nagasu said she also plans to attempt one in Saturday's free skate and keep trying them this season, no matter what happens here."

Well she attempted it! No falls, I think a UR?
She's got a triple axle in the works and looking good for the start of the year!http://www.isu.org/figure-skating/figure-skating-events/grand-prix-of-figure-skating Mirai featured in the redesign of the ISU GP website. She's got some buzzzzzzz!![]()

Mirai's 3A was ratified with full base value but with negative GOEs, so calm down.
LOL.....I know. I changed it right after... I was looking at Karens protocols, LOL .. ws hoping no one woulda seen my post. LOL
The story of my FSU LIFE... Yeah, Mirai!

LOL, so then does Mirai get credit for being 3rd USA woman to land the 3axel in an ISU competition???
And just in time for the release of I, Tonya!
It looked double footed to me. A great attempt, but I don't think she gets credit as the 8th (?) lady to do one in international competition until it's a clean 1 footed landing. Fingers crossed for tomorrow! It was called rotated, but I wonder if it was double footed.
Well rotated jumps can be double footed.
She is the 2nd US Lady to do a 3a in international competition! And just in time for the release of I, Tonya!
I understand that it's counted as a ratified, fully rotated 3A, but I feel weird counting it just because under 6.0 when Midori and Tonya were getting credit for it, a double foot most likely would not have counted (like Surya Bonaly's quad...though I think she had UR issues as well).

Oh well rules have changed. Congrats to Mirai for standing up on it and I know it'll get better the more she attempts it.
She was going to keep one program. Would you rather it were TWTIA?I'm sure she'll get her perfect 3A this season, but I wish she'd changed her SP

It's pretty clear her whole focus was the 3A today. Hopefully she will get it under her belt and be able to interpret the music. It's a bit worrisome that her best *performance* was her very first one last season, though. I have faith in the program. I hope she is able to work with Jeff some more to refresh it even while focusing on the 3A.

Mirai did it. No matter what, it is recorded that Mirai Nagasu performed a 3A in an ISU Sanctioned International competition.

This is the first time I've read about Mirai commenting on seeing a sports psychologist! I'm so glad, and I hope the sessions truly help her on her Olympic journey!
