2017-2018 Program Music and Choreographers

the song is annoying but their skating is beautiful. Is it a new competition or is that presentation from weeks ago where the Chinese federation prohibited sharing videos?

I agree. I wish they were using the Jeff Buckley version. I love K.D. Lang's voice but that version sounded like elevator music. Sui and Han are wonderful to watch no matter what, but I wish they got better music.

Better music choice for Medvedeva than last year and certainly no one skates with more conviction than she does. I just wish that one day she will use a different choreographer. This is another program where moves just come one after another with no point, but obviously that's the choreographer's fault, not hers.

Does she know that there is actually music playing while she skates?

Yes, for inquiring minds, "the Janny" knows there is music playing while she skates - and all you're gonna manage to do, thinking otherwise, is piss off @Karpenko :p :revenge:

At least Med knows to jump and jump a lot, instead of just, shall we say, skating around and posing for points... ;)

Actually I think this is a big step up from last year in artistry for Med. Chopin, no miming, finished movements -- win win win. Zagitova is going to have to push hard to beat this.

I agree with this and was just about to post same this morning. It should be what everyone wanted to see- no miming, not cutesy, mature, artistic but technically loaded. I also don't get the footwork criticism of not skating to the music. A) she's just great at skating to music in general, and B) expresses that in this footwork fine- pauses and soulful positions where the music pauses, etc. I personally find Chopin a little dull (to each their own) but she does this well and it was a good skate.

This just makes me want to cry. I love them so much. But this is one piece of music I never wanted to see them skate.

Hong Bo is going on my Chrisopher Dean List for people-who-should-know-better-than-to-recycle-their-own-greatest-hits.

Seriously though. I'm watching this feed that has the top 3 pairs in it, and Peng & Jin really should've bested Sui & Han in the free at least....https://www.yizhibo.com/l/n-HUsUSI8p_k9bXB.html

The music is from the newer Star Wars movies, not Holst's "The Planets". I don't know them well enough to place which soundtrack is which - except the last second to last cut is from Episode One , but definitely not the planets. https://www.yizhibo.com/l/n-HUsUSI8p_k9bXB.html

Okay thanks @Taso

I'm hoping someone will upload videos of Peng/Jin and Yu/Zhang LPs, because I couldn't get that stream to work on my computer.
