After Peggy won the gold medal, she signed a contract with NBC for a series of specials. Here's Peggy Fleming was the first. The next was a straight performance with the Ice Follies, but the other three were more creative: Peggy Fleming at Sun Valley, Peggy Fleming To Europe with Love, and Peggy Fleming in Russia. They aired in the early 1970s, but I have never been able to find any video.

She moves like an ice dancer - posture always perfect, effortless technique. She looks and talks like a Hitchcock actress (a composite, not any particular one). And that grooving number - whoa. I cant think of anybody today who could pull that -- or the costume -- off, not even Carolina or Papadakis. Only maybe guys like Ge, Vasilievs or Abbott.

An hommage to Hubbell and Donohue 2016 SD maybe ???
Watching this, I realized the only way this song doesn't sound like an elevator song is when sung by Jeff Buckley. As much as I love this couple and H/D btw, I do not care for this music being used for an SD. Of course, this has nothing to do with the quality of their skating. I just hoped for sg a bit more original, less sirupy, it reminds me of their FD last year, extremely well skated but again a tad on the mushy side for my taste. Do we know their FD music ?

Their LP music I heard is Turandot. I'm still not sure how I feel about that considering Shen/Zhao's Turandot is so iconic but it has been 15 years. I just wanted Sui/Han to do something original to them so they can make an iconic program at the Olympics that people will automatically think "this music makes me think of S/H and only S/H." Oh well.

Yes, I loved their last two season's SP. I love them when they skate to energetic music with attitude like their spanish SP and last year Blues for Klook, edgy and modern, perfect. So the soft mushy stuff, well ... As for the Turandot, they might choose totally different music edits. But yes I would have hoped for something a bit more modern and edgy again or with attitude. Let's see, we might be surprised yet.

I heard it was the same music cuts as Shen/Zhao. But I guess we will see tomorrow.
