Downtown Jason Brown - Let the Good Times Roll (uber thread #2)

That is an awfully busy pattern they used as a backdrop in many of the photos, but it is still great to see Jason having a ball :)

Agreed, that backdrop kinda screams "We're at a hotel taking pictures", although of course Jason makes it work:cheer2:

And interesting that he is rocking the manbun instead of the pony for the photos. I wonder if that was his choice or the stylists?

He looks so freaking hot with a man bun.

Ummm.... so... The Olympics will be in Korea. The photo shoot is for the purposes of presenting athletes who are expected to compete in Korea during the Olympics. My immediate impression was that the "awfully busy pattern" was meant to provide a backdrop which reflected colors and design schemes which reflect those commonly associated with Korean traditional art/design aesthetic/interior decoration. I presume this is NBC's effort to reflect that. I would think we would all sort of assume that there was thought put into the design of the images. Not ... "they're in a hotel"

Jason has been tweeting pictures from his recent travels, and Phil Hersh just tweeted this really nice response:

@jasonbskates recent tweets show the rewards for true curiosity about the world and a desire to connect with it and be enlightened by it.

Even grumpy old Phil has to admit Jason is a wonderful human being!

Hope Jason enjoys adventuring in the Philippines with his sister this week: https://www.instagram.com/p/BTgb9x9AIG1/?taken-by=jasonbskates&hl=en

:) I wish I could bottle Jason's energy, enthusiasm, kindness and grit! He comes from a wonderful family.

In Jason's interview with Scott Hamilton earlier this season, Jason describes how he and his extended family have a tradition of gathering together every New Year's eve and just talking, laughing, and crying together ... sharing intimacies and being real. What a lucky guy! What a great antidote against all the harshness and stresses of the world (to have such a close family who honor traditions and togetherness). Having family or friends like that is truly a blessing.

This article was posted today on insideskating.net by Florentina Tone and has some lovely comments about Jason. She quotes the Daisuke Takahashi comments about The Scent of Love and then goes on to write:

And the truth is that: your eyes are drawn to Jason Brown as soon as you enter #TheCave; and not because he is wearing a blue T-shirt, a stain of colour among everyone else dressed in white and black. But because Jason’s skating is addictive through its quality and beauty of the movement. You come to realize it more and more while watching his SP run-through, to Sam Smith’s „Writing’s on the Wall”. And in this feast of quads, hosted by a surreal, freezing ice rink, a gorgeous triple Axel landed on the music, on the lyrics even, „I’m prepared for this/I never shoot to miss…”, makes you happy; and attracts spontaneous claps from a knowing, hard to please audience.

(Looks like the main purpose of his trip was to get new boots/blades.)

Jason presented the USFS/PSA Paul McGrath Choreographer of the Year Award to Rohene Ward, his second win in 3 years, in Nashville last week (13-second clip): https://twitter.com/ProfSk8rsAssoc/status/868288618951036933/video/1

I searched on YT & saw that MCM did a couple in 2016 -- are there more recent ones, @VIETgrlTerifa?
