Best I've seen Mirai since 2010, maybe ever. I did not think this moment would come, and am very happy to have been wrong. Congratulations to all of you Believers here:))) She looked amazing- jumps huge, musicality and interpretation all there. I really hope she has turned the corner and has her winning days ahead of her.

I saw her free on the live stream. Not as solid as yesterday, although the technical caller dinged her for several <'s and to the contrary I would have given her full credit for the 3S and the 2A-3T. The caller was off on several skaters however. Other than Alaine Chartrand most of the skaters' total scores were a bit low.

Still, Mirai is on the right track and definitely looks trained.

The LP needs another 15 points if she's going to make the Grand Prix final, but agree she looks right on track. Her jumps have more lift and she's got plenty of endurance. She could also use another week with David on this program too (working on the emotion), but it'll come and yeah she's on the upswing. Technically she looks strong, I hope she's the US Champion this year.

That's right.

I mentioned over in the Autumn Classic ladies free thread that Mirai does her best when she throws caution to the wind and goes for broke. I hope that she skates every competition with a free-spirited attitude. She has worked and trained too hard to let nerves get in the way anymore.

She could definitely make up those points. I think she lost about 8 points on her 3-3 alone. What was encouraging was the improvement in her PCS. That has held her back as much as her URs. US Champion would be great, but I'll settle for the World Team!

The PCS she received this weekend were such a revelation, proving that she is definitely back in the judges eyes among the 'big girls' and rightfully so. I'm so stoked by the SP and the reception it has received and I think the LP was more a result of being overwhelmed by how well she was received, as I'm sure she was not expecting a 73 and 8s in PCs as she's only once scored out of the 60s AFAIK and been locked in thee 6 and 7s area in PCS for years. I'm really excited by how fit she looks and am so looking forward to seeing where she goes from here.

Isn't it so nice to see her proud of herself and not holding back tears! Her comeback trail was a bitch!!! I mean really really hard! I applaud her. She's fantastic. What you see is what you get and it's beautiful.

Triple Axel in practice! (y)

The mindset for Mirai this season (and the next) should go something like this, be the chased, not the chaser.
