Hew-Low's previous dance partner was Cameron Hemmert; McKernan skated with Shannon Wingle in Senior/Junior & Piper Gilles in Junior and has been coaching in Canton, Michigan: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timothy_McKernan
He last competed at 2011 U.S. Nationals and placed 10th in Senior with Wingle.

As previously mentioned in the "From Russia with love" thread in May, Russia's Ekaterina Alezandrovskaya (Екатерина Александровская) will compete in Senior & JGP pairs with Harley Dahlstrom.

My knee snapped watching that, and then my brain did a cartwheel. It's a very cool combination. I'd guess it would eventually be a 2A-4T combo if we see it in competition. I really like him and find him ...underrated.

It seems that Brendan's might have been in response to another skater well-known for his jumps but who is not Australian...

At any rate, I have a great feeling about the coming season for Team Australia. In both Junior and Senior Men we have an abundance of talent that is starting to come into its own, we still have that great battle of our Senior ladies, we have a new pair, we have our ever-improving dancers...I hope it will be a really good season!

Brendan's attempt is great but unless the single axel becomes a triple, it wouldn't be worth trying that combination in competition.

Max's walley into 4T, however, is worthwhile since the walley is not a listed jump it won't count as combination but a difficult transition into a 4T so could be used in both SP and LP without taking up a combination box.

I would prefer to see Max getting the 4T in on its own before he goes trying crazy stuff like that, and I'd rather see Brendan get both quads stable before he goes for that too. But the training videos are pretty fun.

Not in an SP, which is where you said it would be useful. In terms of absolute numbers, pushing the points by adding more quads when you can reliably do all the other jumps makes sense in an LP. Risking a difficult jump on the second half of a combination when you get the same points for doing them solo or with easier jumps in combination make no sense in the LP under the current scoring system, and only makes sense in an SP when the risk/reward is worth it. We've seen that Boyang Jin can attempt a programme with higher jump BV than Hanyu and Fernandez and yet those two skaters will beat him every time based on the quality of all of their elements.

That is an incredible attempt at the combination but the 4T looks < in real time which means the hit on BV and GOE would leave it much less than a clean 4T+3T for most guys, and even without the < would still leave it in the dust to a Hanyu, Fernandez or Chan quad combo in the short.

Still a really impressive attempt though.

Meet all the new dance teams in Australia. In Australia teams just have to meet a min score then can pick any B-international to attend. That's why some teams have so many, others are probably waiting to get the min score. Good to see so many teams.

It's important to keep an eye on this team as the season progresses, as Alexandrovskaya/Windsor's results at either Four Continents (I'm assuming they'll get the minimums)/Junior Worlds will contribute towards Australia's attempt to qualify for the 2018 Olympic Team Event.

Honestly though they still have a chance, depending on how Germany goes. Given all the issues the Russian team had, and that the Aussie team has the 1st place tiebreaker over Liu/Johnson...

They have a chance but Mishima/Mirzoev and DUskova/Bidar already have 15 pat from their first event; and Ustimkina/Volodin and Boikova/Kozlovski can finish as low as 5th and still qualify ahead of them.
