From Russia with love [#23]: Spring/Summer 2016

I would like to see whether RSF will appeal for the third spot for ice dance next year, this will depend on how much hot WADA will get hit over next few weeks. If WADA is forced to retrieve (especially with regard to Sharapova), RSF can say B/S were denied chance help Russia gain the third spot. They would have had to finish third, but they are former world championships bronze medalists. The strength of argument would, of course, depend on how badly they can portray WADA having messed up the whole process.

The Russian federation would be better off not presenting judges with three options and rather focus all their campaigning on one team.

Quiqie's translation (post#390)says 'lifted'.

It's good that Bobrova is cautious in her statement. She is waiting for further communications, but if the ban is indeed lifted and she can compete next season, that's great news for Russia.
 
Afaik, there were castings in 10 Russian cities for children of age 7 to 9 in March.
Judges:
- Aleksander Kogan, TAT, Adelina, Galina Golubkova (absent in episode 1).
Cities:
- Sochi, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, Omsk, Moscow (1st episode, today)
- St. Petersburg, Samara, Sarabsk, Chelabinsk, Kazan (2nd episode, May 2nd)

Judges chose 2 girls and 2 boys in each city to for "phase one" in Moscow (40 kids).
Then, I'm not sure how many phases there were - final 10(?) -> final 4(?), anyway there should be two winners: a girl and a boy, who win the main prize: week of training under "top figure skating specialists" in Sochi plus I think their schools get some prize.
I don't know how many episodes overall and exact air dates though.

Nothing new, as I understand this channel (Russian TV channel, not a Youtube one) is for young teenagers, so it is not a documentary film to something like this. They just showed Julia's story short.
She said that she is dreaming about big house, husband&children and favorite job, not figure skating and "Olympic dream".
Have to say - she looks great!

I really hope she stays healthy and gets all her jumps in good order. I think she's really improved on the artistic side of her skating. I would be so happy to see her on the World's team. I think this will be a rebuilding year for Radionova who is working through her inevitable growth, but Russian ladies predictions are a crap shoot. There are so many good skaters and nobody knows which of the young skaters will hit that "I grew 3 inches and need to rework my jump" stage when. But, my heart belongs to Adelina and I hope she has a good season.

She is working with the famous Japanese print "Great Wave". I have the pants-suite, not to wear but for "collection of designs as art".

Liza is always unusual. The question is whether it will be fabulous or craptastic.

ETA: Sorry, I didnt mean to be rude. Liza is wonderful (when her jumps are there) but she sometimes shoots herself in the foot with her programs and costumes. I hope she will ditch both bags and Amazon dresses and get programs that suit her. Sexy would be nice. There are too many James Bond programs on this earth but something like that would be fun to see. La Femme Nikita maybe....
