I truly hope all of you don't seriously think that Wagner's costumes are comparable to these.

I personally think Ashley's SP dress is mature, stylish and sexy, and her FS dress is beautiful and appropriate for the program, and also contrasts beautifully with her hair (which looks great on her, in my opinion - perhaps some people are just too used to her blonde hair, and too conservative). Who has seen the movie 'Moulin Rouge' knows that the FS costume is also inspired by one of the outfits Kidman wore in it, as was the red dress. If someone thinks that all "bling"and/or sequins are tasteless per se, it's another thing. But that's just an opinion, not some established fact.

For what it's worth, Sarah Brannen on IN, Drew-less but assisted by Project Runway All Star's Sam Donovan, voted Ashley as having the best costumes in her worlds best dressed article. Not that this has anything to do with the topic of this thread. :P Well, Victoria Sinitsina's gold sneakers were voted best shoes.

Wow, beauty really is in the eye of the beerholder :p

Medvedeva "stunning" "gorgeous"?! Really? Tiny girl dressing in her mother's clothes. I don't even find her pretty in a little girl kind of way and certainly not stunning in a womanly kind of way.

Now when you're talking those adjectives, Anna is the skater that comes to my mind. Beautiful girl with a grown woman's body and good taste.

Some people really can't win can they? Evgenia is a very pretty, cute teenage girl. She dresses appropriately for her age, her costumes and street clothes are always tasteful IMO, never frumpy or overly provocative. Her hairdo at competitions is nice and complements her facial feature IMO.

Anna looks great in street clothes but if anyone has the questionable taste in costumes, it would be her, just because they sometimes verge on the overly bedazzled or provocative side of things, but again I wouldn't say inappropriate. She has some great off ice looks and I liked the romper she wore at the banquet.

Evgenia and Anna both seem to be nice girls. They genuinely seem to be good friends which is nice to see because clearly when it comes to competition, it's not causing problems or drama. Also anyone who thinks Anna snubbed Ashley needs to watch the video of the press conference where Anna hugs Ashley many times and is all cute and smiley. Definitely didn't seem like a begrudged reaction to me. Also, when Anna and Evgenia were dancing backstage in the greenroom it was before Gracie's marks came up - they were just goofing around because they were finished skating and had done so well, it really didn't seem to have anything to do with Gracie and they definitely weren't twerking? The haters need to calm down, I'm not seeing any problems with the way they behave or dress.

I think it's dangerous to judge costumes from video or photos: like stage make-up, they are meant to be seen in strong lighting (against bright ice in skating, against white floors in dance) and from a distance, and how they move is also important. Lots of things from stage do not stand up well in close up.

Lakernik could be absolutely right! Even if Russia has strong professionals in ice dance it needs great teams which right now it doesn't. Competent to good only.

Maybe he is not right. What if russia did have good teams but they are sabatoged by incompetent officials.

Another question. Why do good world champion junior teams become glaring disappointments as senior teams.
