The Voice - Fall 2015

Yeah, I was wondering what I was missing.

Yeah, that's the negative about the judges as coaches/mentors. There is virtually no criticism of performances.

And now we have mouth full of marbles with Right Here Waiting for You. :yikes:

I can't believe they didn't close the show with Jeffrey. He had the performance of the night by quite a margin. I'd put Madi in second, and then a bunch of them in third.

Poor Mark is probably toast, but can someone soon give Evan a good song.

Jordan was like a guest star, doing something completely different.

Jeffrey was far and away my favorite. But, it's pretty clear that Jordan is the chosen one. They always put him near the end. They promote the show with him. They say over the top things about him. It annoyed me more than usual tonight. Not just because I thought Jeffrey was the one who deserved the standing o, but because the promotion of Jordan has become even more blatant and transparent. We now have other judges begging people to buy his music. And I thought it was tacky and exploitative to invoke the Paris attacks to promote Jordan. Blech. They really are treating him like their "guest star." How is there any suspense over who is going to win this competition? It's a done deal that Jordan is going to win. And I don't get why he's the chosen one. I don't see him being commercially successful. And The Voice will continue to be labeled as unable to produce successful winners.

But, I am clearly out of touch with what American likes. Zach is outselling Madi and Shelby. I'll take Shelby over anyone on Team Country.

Yes, Evan had a bad song, but I'm not sure there's a song out there that can really help him. Overall, the song choices were pretty bad. Little Braiden says he likes AC/DC so Gwen gives him a Styx song?

Mark might be going home, but he has a lot of competition for that exit spot, IMO. He might be saved over Korin. But, if Braiden or Even end up in the bottom, I think they'll get the save. As long as Jeffrey, Madi, Shelby, and Amy don't go home, I don't care a whole lot who does go home.

Thanks. :) I somehow missed his performance.

Off to look it up on youtube.

Videos are posted on the NBC site immediately.

Jeffrey and Jordan are the only ones that sang well tonight. The rest either had an off night, had bad arrangement or just mediocre.

I think Zach and Emily Ann would make a cute couple, more like Ken and Barbie as a previous poster mentioned.

There were a lot of misses but that was mostly bad song selection imo as well as sung badly. Bad songs - Braiden, Mark, Korin, Barrett, Evan, & Zach. I think the bottom 3 will be in this group & I won't miss anyone of them except Mark. I hope he doesn't go home because I would like him to have the chance to do what he excels at before he leaves. Singing a 30 yr old song that's not in his key isn't it.

I don't understand Amy's appeal. She had a good audition but nothing so far has been as good. She has a tiny little voice that couldn't reach the front row without a mike & it's too breathy for my taste.

Emily Ann - ok if you like country karaoke

Jeffrey - I loved his audition but something about him is off-putting to me

As far as who I think picked a good song & sang it the best I would rate them in this order: Jordan, Shelby, Madi

iTunes: (which goes to prove I don't know what I'm talking about)
#1 Jordaan
#6 Amy
#10 Jeffrey
#14 Barrett
#22 Emily Ann
#29 Zach
#37 Shelby
#38 Madi
#57 Evan
#58 Korin
#64 Mark
#79 Braiden

@shan And Amerika saved her, so she doesn't even get the chance at first runner up.
Mumbles and Baby Face are through as well, while Shelby is still waiting.

I choose Mark over the Gwen look-a-like.
Me too. Doesn't matter anyways, cuz Korin won't be hanging around for long. Once you're in the bottom 2, there's very little chance of making it to the finals. Just hope the fans don't keep saving her each week overextending her stay.

Shame about Mark. I think Pharell blew it with the song choice.

Yes, & then Mark blew it with his save song. I love me some Stevie Wonder but how 'bout something from this century Mark?

Yup, I'm here. They're backloading again, so I'm just waiting for something real. Amy wasn't bad.

Yeah, I thought Amy was the best so far. I feel bad always being negative about Korin, but meh tonight. All I can see is Gwen clone. I only understood about half of Barrett's lyrics to Delta Dawn, then it went back to mouth full of marbles. I enjoyed the guy who sang Smile, but I can't remember his name and it took me a bit to remember what he sang.

Madi was worth the wait.

I can't see Emily Ann really appealing to country fans with that because she is too bluegrass. I'm probably in the minority because I enjoyed that a lot.

Two good performances for me, and since Jeffrey got the pimp spot I'm really expecting to be blown away. eta- nope- just okay. Not as good song choice as Amy.

Madi
Emily Ann
Amy

All the rest were meh.

As much as I'm rooting for Braiden, that was the worst performance of the night, with Korin close behind. That was an awful rendition of the song and it was obvious he wasn't comfortable with it.

I thought Barrett was the worst of the night but then I never like anything he does. I hardly liked anyone last night - almost everyone sounded like bad karaoke to me: Barrett, Korin, Amy, Zach, & Braiden. Even Jordan was blah to me although he didn't sound karaoke. I didn't think Evan's song choice would sell but iTunes proved me wrong. He does have a beautiful voice but he really needs coaching. I'm not sure he's getting it. I liked Shelby but she's the only one of the top 11 who didn't chart on iTunes top 100.

The ones I liked were Madi, Jeffrey, (surprise to me) Emily Ann & Shelby. The iTunes top 100 are:

#4 Amy
#8 Jordan
#11 Emily Ann
#14 Madi
#28 Jeffrey
#35 Zach
#38 Barrett
#43 Evan
#58 Korin
#64 Braiden

As usual, my NBC reception was horribly intermittent, so the only two whose entire performances I was able to view were Madi and Barrett. I caught snippets of Amy, Jordan, Braiden, and missed most if not all of the rest. I didn't even try to watch Emily Ann since I thought her performance last week was awful. Guess I should have tried. I, too, thought that Jordan wasn't at his best, but I really liked Madi and also liked what I heard from Amy. In his blind audition I thought that Barrett was over-the-top, but OK; since then each week I have found him more and more unintelligible. In another week or two, he might be reduced to uttering only vowel sounds. :scream: But judging by iTunes ranking, a lot of people do not share my opinion.

I'd vote Adam off for that flat, pitchy version of Wouldn't It Be Nice. Nice of him to put it in Jordan's key, but it did him no favors.
