A show where the lead is transgendered? On the CW--the best network on tv besides BOLD? Yes, please!

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/cw-developing-drama-transgender-teen-628484

Written by playwright-musician Kyle Jarrow, ZE revolves around a Texas teenager who announces that she is transgendered and will be living life as a boy. As his dysfunctional family spirals into identity crises of their own, he discovers that despite his appearance, he may be the most well-adjusted of them all.

My casting choice? Lyndsy Fonseca!!!

That is a bold subject for broadcast television. If done right it could be event television.

Hallmark "holiday" sweater takes the gay out of Christmas: Don we now our “fun” apparel?

Hallmark apologized last week for removing the word “gay” — and replacing it with “fun” — from a line from the Christmas carol Deck the Halls on one of its ornaments (a Holiday Sweater ornament) because of its homosexual connotations, several outlets reported...

The article goes on to say that Hallmark is still selling this product, but does have a "solid reputation as being an LGBT-friendly business". The article suggest we should cut them some slack on this one. I guess the Russia thing is a bit worse. ;)

46 Most Iconic LGBT Moments of 2013

The things that stand out for me on this list:

The tag line of the poster for #4.

The video of #12. Here are the lyrics for this new version. The lyrics that stands out to me most is at the end during the "Here's to..." section: Here’s to the parents who will get it when its too late I think that might be one of the most heartbreaking lyrics ever written. :(

The statistic for #19 is heart-warming. :cheer2:

This article must have been written before #47 was added to the list: Brian Boitano comes out :cheer:

Youtube search Kmart Joe Boxer Christmas Commercial.

My fellow homosexual boys will thank me. And you'll get a good laugh too. Especially at the very last second of the commercial.

I haven't laughed so hard in a LOOOOOONG time!!

I saw two absolutely amazing gay movies today.

Floating Skyscrapers manages to portray extremely well how totally screwed being gay in this backward, fecked up nightmare of a country is. It's beautifully shot, very well acted and whilst I guess a lot of its tropes have been done multiple times already (difficulty in accepting your sexuality against hostility from your environment mainly), it's very polished, delivered extremely well and most importantly the extremely hot protagonist has a HUGE PENIS that we get to see more than once. I'm afraid google is refusing to comply with my penis request but the poster picture is also 'quite' alluring.

The second film I watched was the Palme d'Or winning Blue is the Warmest Colour. Again the issue of discovering your sexuality, trying to come to terms with it (and never fully succeeding) and all that jazz are covered well but most importantly this movie shows that lesbians exist, contrary to popular misconception and even more shockingly, women actually enjoy sex. I know, incredible. For me, its main thrust was the universal exploaration of relationships, which would apply to anybody gay or straight. I also loved its queer slant. It's perhaps a bit too overdrawn, I'd edit it a bit more tightly but it's an excellent film.

I watched those two back-to-back and my head's exploded. I need a very stiff drink now. :p

I wondered if she'd ever come out publicly. With Sam Champion coming out and marrying while still on GMA, and Josh Elliott discussing his late dad being gay (see below), I felt the door had been opened for Robin to come out. Also, the death of her mother seemed to me to be the last barrier holding her back from a more public gay profile.

Robin Roberts Thanks Longtime Girlfriend After Health Battle
By KATHY EHRICH DOWD
12/29/2013 at 04:50 PM EST

Excerpt:

Robin Roberts spent 2013 fighting for her health, and for the first time reveals she had a special person by her side: girlfriend Amber Laign.

Roberts publicly acknowledged a relationship with Laign on Sunday when she referred to her in a year-end Facebook post celebrating her many blessings.

"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together," she wrote.

Laign, a San Francisco Bay-area native, is a licensed massage therapist and has a private practice specializing in patients recovering from injuries. They have been together for 10 years after meeting through mutual friends.
