I read this article over at the LATimes and it's extremely powerful. If you remember the gay soldier in Iraq (with the huge biceps) who showed his face to ask about DADT during the Google/YouTube Republican debate in 2011, this is his background:

At the airport, they watched soldiers embracing their families, saying goodbye. Hill and Snyder were hunkered under an escalator. "Like little rats, hiding," Hill would say.

....

Many mornings, Hill awakens to voice-mail messages from Snyder. He is careful to listen to them on a headset.

"I love you. I miss you. You're one day closer to getting home. You're my hero."

He is home on leave in May 2011 when they decide to get married. Ohio will not perform the ceremony, so they drive to Washington, D.C. He returns to war wearing a titanium wedding band.

Jessica, he says. For his screensaver, he uses the image of a lesbian friend.

Having been heterosexually-married myself in the past year, reading this article broke my heart. Finding someone who loves you, accepts you, and wants to spend the rest of their life with you is such a rare and beautiful thing. Anyone who tries to stop a pair of loving, supportive, consenting adults from marrying is sorely lacking a heart.

Okay, that was kind of a crappy article...

Matt Bomer
Jason Collins (basketball player)
Raven Symone
Ricky Martin
Lady Sovereign (UK rapper)

Portia DeRossi
Amber Heard (The Playboy Club)
Zachary Quinto
Victor Garber
Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls co-star)

Ian McKellen
Matt Dallas (Kyle XY lead star)
Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story)
Jodie Foster
Gillian Anderson

David Hyde Pierce
Kelly McGillis
Nathan Lane
Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City)
Wanda Sykes

Cary Grant
Jonathan Knight (New Kids On The Block)
Eleanor Roosevelt
Suze Orman
Annie Leibovitz

Cary Grant and Eleanor Roosevelt never came out!!! And Nathan Lane and David Hyde Pierce did NOT shock me when they came out! But most of the rest did surprise me. Anyway, welcome to the outside, 25 surprise out celebs! :respec:

Cary Grant was married five times and fathered a child, so while I know he had homosexual relationships/encounters (for a while the official line was that he "shared a house" with Randolph Scott ) I doubt he was wholly gay - more likely bisexual. I know Rock Hudson was made to marry once by his studio (MGM, I suppose), but if you were gay, why bother to do it five times? It's not worth the trouble. And at least one of the marriages took place after he'd retired from acting.

You want to know my honest opinion? [No filters]

I'm joyous Aaron Schock is getting outed in such a public and humiliating way! People like him are the reason gay kids commit suicide.

He has been a [homophobe] enemy of gay rights for sometime now, and I CANNOT WAIT for this to blow up.

Long live the queen! :glamor: :2faced:

I think this sums it up pretty well:

Jeremy Yoder said:
It’s really pretty simple—if you’ve made MY sexual identity a political issue, you don’t get to hide your own.

Well well well... the article he mentions is like a gift basket.

http://americablog.com/2014/01/2014-looking-gay-old-year-aaron-schock.html

It all starts from
Fun little bonus post. Of the 19 tweets favorited by Aaron Schock on Twitter, 3 are to this guy. He’s Schock’s most favorited Tweeter:

http://americablog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/aaron-schock-twitter-favorite-2.jpg

http://americablog.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/aaron-schock-twitter-favorites.jpg

So he is following and liking an aspiring porn star who want to work with Michael Lucas(porn king) and who tweets to Jake Cruise( former gay porn king)

This is what Court Anderson posted about Aaron Schock before he locked down his account. Of the 11 photos that Court Anderson posted on Twitter, guess who pops up? Aaron Schock. One of the other photos is of a really hot naked guy with a huge member, and not of the congressional kind. Here’s Anderson’s tweet about Schock that I grabbed before he locked the account:

'AMERICAN BANDSTAND' DANCERS: DICK CLARK ENGAGED IN 'WITCH HUNTS' TO PURGE SHOW OF GAYS

BY ANDY TOWLE

Excerpt:

Frank Brancaccio (pictured, via this interview) and Eddie Kelly (pictured below, from this interview), two gay former American Bandstand dancers tell the National Enquirer that late host Dick Clark had his producers conduct "witch hunts" to "purge gays from the ranks."

The First Thing My Mom Did When She Learned I Was Gay... and the 'Miracle' That Occurred After

Growing up as a gay kid in the south was not easy. The constant fear of people discovering who you really were and the inevitable shame that would fall upon you and your family dictated how you lived your life everyday. Luckily for me, I was fortunate enough to move to places where it wasn't a constant daily reminder that I was an abomination. For my family, however, they still live in ground zero of intolerance for the LGBT community and have the unique pressure of having a well known gay relative. When I came out, they came out.

For years they have had to deal with the judgmental looks and constant condolences from friends and strangers as if I had died. "I'm so sorry, you are in our thoughts."

That was the television show for which Barry Manilow sang the theme song?

Barry's version of "Bandstand Boogie" was used by the show as its theme song starting in the late 1970's, but the version most people remember, from the earlier years of the show, was an instrumental, done by a big band.

I saw this online a while back and thought it was great:

Advice columnist Amy Dickinson responds to a parent who wrote in upset that her son ‘won’t listen to reason’ and ‘stop being gay’:

“You could teach your son an important lesson by changing your own sexuality to show him how easy it is. Try it for the next year or so.”
