Yuzuru Hanyu Cheer Thread

Come back from hell to deliver Yuzuru's free skate at GPF 2015, another stunning performance (no block, free to watch from all over the world): https://youtu.be/QWQs--Rgl4k

He won GPF 2015 by 38 points...

I just want to shout: Yuzuru won the GPF Barcelona with 2 clean performances back to back, when ALL of his rivals skated well and clean. How did he stand the pressure??? HOW???

I think I have just died. Normally it's just me alone who keeps updating Yuzuru's fan thread. But I don't know if my heart will beat again after that number 330. :40beers:

I am pretty much like Eric right now:

Please someone take over this thread for me. Bye, I am in another world. :saint::saint::saint::saint:

He gets a big edge on the others not only in difficulty but in massive GOE. He got roughly 25 points in GOE. Contrast that to Fernandez who got only roughly 14. Fernandez needs to start getting lots of +3s on everything like Hanyu does before he can compete with him again. The only one anywhere close was Chan who had roughly 19.

The level of skating by nearly all the men at the GPF was just incredible. Wow. Hanyu though is clearly leading the way and has taking skating to a new level period. What an incredible talent and champion.

I think his tough year last year was good for him. Even his tough start to this one with a loss to comebacking Chan. He clearly got motivated by his defeats at worlds and Skate Canada, and is over his health setbacks, and is now mostly competing with himself and setting new bars for himself, and is bringing the other men who are chasing him along with him.

Seeing things like a quad lutz-triple toe combo from a skater, quad lutzes from different men, 3 quads in a program from several men, 3 guys scoring high 90s in PCS, is mostly due to Hanyu and the standard he is setting.

I can't believe how good Yuzuru is! Is it too early to call him one of the all time greats?

I also love how gracious and humble he stays. It says a lot that before he even gets his scores he is bowing deeply to his coach (a sign of great respect), and then claps and bows to thank the audience. Despite being the best out there now, he never seems to be cocky. He cried after getting his score, and always talks about how his hard work got him to where he is (and that he needs to do more work). He never puts the other skaters down - he encourages and complements them.
I respect that so much about him - some great skaters like to think they're the best (and they may have been), but he keeps himself grounded and focuses on his own skating. It's wonderful that he's focusing on making himself better rather than focusing on beating other people. I think that's a philosophy everyone can learn from.

2014, 2018, 2022, 2026 and 2030...that's five Olympics golds! Maybe six, because by 2030 maybe Japan's pairs and dance teams will be strong enough to get Hanyu a team medal also. :)

LOL, Yuzuru is not that greedy.

I'm sure he's willing to share. But he's just not going to give away medals!
Yuzuru Hanyu broke not only the world record scores in every figure skating category, but also…
Record in the number of world records achieved (10)
Record in the number of SELF world records broken (7)
Record in the number of consecutive GPFs win in men (3)

And to be continued...

Honestly I hope Yuzuru will retire after 2018 so ISU will have room to change the rules lol. And it's better for my heart too.

His English has improved a lot. So cute. :2faced:

"Score is score, my performance is my performance... I own my performance to every audience here and before the tivi."

Let me cry for a bit: :wuzrobbed:wuzrobbed:wuzrobbed
