So, that was all kinds of insane, but I'm a bit disappointed Adam didn't miss the podium by 1.99 pts.

Was nice to meet you even if brief!Back at my hotel. Got an 8am flight tomorrow. It’s been a blast FSU! As hard as it has been to make it through 6+ hours a day of swan lakes, it’s moments like Adam, Yuma and Ilya that make me want to go back in 2025.
Right?! As previously mentioned - insanity & chaos! After the short, I couldn't imagine, but there it is: Dream podium
Judge no. 3 was Mr. Yury KLIUSHNIKOV (country?) & no. 7 was Ms. Anna KANTOR (ISR?): http://www.isuresults.com/results/season2324/wc2024/SEG002OF.htmJudge 3 - 9.75 skating skills for Malinin. Regardless of him rightfully running away with the competition, this is not reality. There are quite a few judges that had him more in the realistic regions though, even with that performance.
Judge 7 nearly went +4 and +5 for every single element Kagiyama did aside from that Axel mistake.
Lots and lots of q calls.

We need someone to create an Ice Dance Fandom Generator. You plug in the names of your past and present favorites, and it spits out the names of some other teams that may suit you.I need another dance team to Uber, there are many I like but none to whom I’m unreasonably attached as I was to H/B.
Here's the last part of his free skate:Did NBC ever show Adam's skate? I don't think CBC-TV is showing the men's FS until tomorrow. Wondering which broadcast I should show him. He HAS to see Adam.
Ukraine and Israel, respectively. Both countries are well-known allies of the United States.Judge no. 3 was Mr. Yury KLIUSHNIKOV (country?) & no. 7 was Ms. Anna KANTOR (ISR?): http://www.isuresults.com/results/season2324/wc2024/SEG002OF.htm
The whole men's FS is here. Adam takes the ice at about 51 minutes into the broadcast.Did NBC ever show Adam's skate? I don't think CBC-TV is showing the men's FS until tomorrow. Wondering which broadcast I should show him. He HAS to see Adam.
Thanks so much. Hubby has now seen all the medalists plus a few. He's a happy camper. The whole men's FS is here. Adam takes the ice at about 51 minutes into the broadcast.
And who could forget Plushy's exhibition program to Sex Bomb, with the huge codpiece and giant papier-mache head? The epic flail days!
Speaking of a "Kimmie" Meissner tweeted this tonight:ETA that I meant Lukas in my prior post. Apologies that I keep getting names wrong (pretty sure I wrote Kimmie instead of Kimmy the other day).
I’m at work tonight and just yelling at my iPad ILIA!!!!!! And Yuma!!! And Adam!!!
My mind is blown. Absolutely amazing!! I love figure skating
Her name is @cygnus! She went to all of the Canadian events for younger skaters within striking distance of home, and she used to give me a list of skaters that I would likeWe need someone to create an Ice Dance Fandom Generator. Sorry to be clueless but where was Kevin A?

And she was always right
https://twitter.com/goldenskate/status/1771742348772282736Poor Adam all this time in the couch, watching these programs without snacks or alcohol
“The two hours wait was actually really long, I was starving. I didn’t actually think of the chance of winning a medal, just realized it when Shoma’s score came up.”
Lukas on his FS music at 2023 Finlandia Trophy: https://twitter.com/goldenskate/status/1710680433615048973My one question mark was Britschgi, for both his choice of music and kente cloth for his costume. Unless he has African roots that are not obvious, Switzerland must not be as concerned about cultural appropriation as North America is.
I wanted to try something completely new for my LP. As traveled to Africa a lot with my parents when I was younger - I was in South Africa and Namibia - and I love the atmosphere and the vibe of this continent. I think I need to work on getting a bit more relaxed during the skate to transfer it completely.”
I'm still buzzed and I'm not even there! Thanks for sharing @BittyBug!This was one of the best nights of skating I've ever witnessed. I'm still buzzed....
It didn't bother me because it wasn't an African program but a program based on a cartoon that features animals who happened to live in Africa if that makes sense. My one question mark was Britschgi, for both his choice of music and kente cloth for his costume. Unless he has African roots that are not obvious, Switzerland must not be as concerned about cultural appropriation as North America is.
Okay, it looks like it was an African program. I think it was meant to be culture appreciation but the kente cloth is questionable.Lukas on his FS music at 2023 Finlandia Trophy: https://twitter.com/goldenskate/status/1710680433615048973
I don't think that link works outside of Canada. The whole men's FS is here. Adam takes the ice at about 51 minutes into the broadcast.
Regarding Lee, he doesn't need the arms over the head to jump. I believe the reason he does them for all his jumps now is because he was getting GOE deductions for bad posture when he jumped with his arms in a regular position. I remember a commentator criticizing said posture & then saying the problem was eliminated when he jumped with his arms over his head. (It straightens his back & eliminates the shoulder shrug). Ever since that commentary, he's been jumping with the arms over his head for most or all of his jumps. Can we stop with the arms over the head please.
I had forgotten, and I will not forgive you for reminding me.And who could forget Plushy's exhibition program to Sex Bomb, with the huge codpiece and giant papier-mache head?
The crowd was positively ELECTRIC. I know this board likes to joke about knitters and Canadian Standing O's, but the crowd got behind every.single.skater - it was amazing. And in between skates, the LOC got everyone revved up - between Kaitlyn Hawayek DJ'ing and former world champions shooting T-shirts into the crowd and amping everyone up, there was an incredible energy in the building.
This was one of the best nights of skating I've ever witnessed. I'm still buzzed....
Aw , yes, Sex Bomb. I remember seeing him do that for the very first time at the Worlds gala in Vancouver. He was 18 years old, I think. The Canadian audience absolutely loved it (as did the CBC TV commentators who thought it was such fun). It was the 1st time we had seen this young Russian kid's sense of humour ... he had always seemed so serious (to us) before. Later on in his career, of course, he did other comic exhibition routines. It was his real head in Vancouver with the "enhanced" torso and then his real legs that looked so skinny compared to the torso. It was funny, as he meant it to be.And who could forget Plushy's exhibition program to Sex Bomb, with the huge codpiece and giant papier-mache head?
You know, after 2022 I was content with what we had been gifted by him, and when someone first mentioned 2026, I thought it was a pipe dream. But it's real. It's really, really a possibility. And he will still be magnificent every step of the way.Jason after his FS in the ISU's "Quick Quotes" document:
(on whether this is “mission accomplished” on a renaissance of his career) Mission accomplished, 100%.
To have that reception from the audience, like that’s already, it filled me up with so much gratitude and
excitement to just get out there to perform. (on his coaches, Tracy Wilson and Brian Orser) It has been six
full years living in Toronto and working with them. The amount that I’ve learned will last me a lifetime, and
I’m still learning, and they’re two of the best coaches in the World. (on continuing to skate after the 2018
Olympics and another outing at Worlds) It’s so cool to just keep on learning and growing in this space and
that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ve just feel like I keep discovering new parts of myself every step along the
way and that’s why I’m here, that’s what, it’s like all bonus. (on next steps) A huge change that I’m making
just right off the get-go, is I’m going to start working a new program when I leave Montreal. So that’s a huge
thing. Last year I toured all spring and didn’t take a break, and right now I’m going back to create new
pieces for next season - getting a jump start. I’ll see you guys next year.
