1 - Mao is SUBLIME. The most compelling women in singles skating both Junior and Senior. It is CRIMINAL she can't compete at the 2026 games. F*** the stupid age rule, it is absolutely horrendous.

2 - Shin. She's solid but just doesn't get your heart rate up. At least SHE can finally move up to senior next year.

3 - Elyce. Not her best but THRILLED she medalled. If you're going to have a roller coast season might as well bookend it with your strongest skates.

4 - Nakai. Talented but feels sloppy - jumps and presentation. Needs better packaging and a refinement of jump technique.

5 - Gladki. Does NOTHING for me at all. Hate those squirrely, eked out tiny jumps.

6 - Inga. Meh skate. UNBEARABLE music.

10 - Bath. Very exciting skater. Looking forward to see where she goes from here. Beautiful 3A.

11 - Arina. Gorgeous 4S to start. It looked like a triple, so effortless. Excited to see her develop.

18 - Sophie. Love that she's going for the big elements. A lot to like here but needs a lot of work. She'll do well in Seniors where she can do a 3A as a solo jump but she really needs to focus on not getting q's on her easier triples because her rotations are sluggish and she has a slow, lazy free leg coming out.

I think that would just mean more drugged Russians moving up early
After a few hours reflection on my post, I agree with you. As long as it's possible for a few to get to seniors before 18(?), the bug push will be on.

Perhaps a better rule would be to require that skaters can only compete at junior worlds/gp for 3 seasons, with an exception for pairs.

Lets face it Mao at this point has no reason to even compete here yet again next season for what another Junior World title? She's clearly not being being pushed staying at the level she is at now being so superior and the only way you improve is with better competition to see where you are at and what you need to improve on.

This Junior Worlds established new world record (10) for 3A attempts in Women's Long program.
Previous record was 7 at 2021 Skate Canada.
Since there was one 3A+3T attempt (by von Felten) in the SP, the total 3A attempt at 11 is tied with 21 Skate Canada (4 in SP, 7 in LP) as the most 3A attempts by Women during an event.
Skaters who attempted 3A or quads in the Long program, based on protocol, are as follows.
Clean ones are noted by positive GOE received.
Mao Shimada (+2.17): 4T (+1.90)
Hana Bath (+0.11)
Ami Nakai Fall<, REP<
Tzimpoukakis <<
Inga Gurgenidze <
Arina Kalugina Fall: 4S+2A SEQ(+1.25), 4Sq Fall
Yujae Kim <
von Felten (+0.57), Fall, (also 3A+3T attempt during SP): 4S<
Congratulations to all skaters who attempted the most difficult jumps for Women.
I would like to note it is exactly 40 years since unforgettable Midori Ito attempted her first competitive 3A (Fall) at 1984 NHK. Midori landed successful 3As four years later at 88 Aichi Prefectural Championships, 88 NHK and at 89 Worlds. Scott Hamilton, during commentating at 89 Worlds, characterized Midori Ito as "once in fifty years skater". He was absolutely right, but perhaps over-estimated by ten years.

You are so right. It's really unfair to her.
