Nakata - 4t hand down & sliding out of it but not a fall; 4t+3t came back strong; 3a+1eu+3s good; 3a good; low landing on the 3z; 3f+2a okay-ish; 3lo good... Definitely a bit nervy today, but he held it together pretty well & came to win.

There, he did a lutz!

You can see where he skinned his thumb on that first 4T mistake.

Jump issues aside, Nakata is another overhyped Japanese junior who does nothing for me and listening to Ted cream himself over his workmanlike spins and stone-faced presentation annoys me to no end. I don't get what makes him any more special than, say, Yoshioka.

Seo's coach HyungKyung Choi literally coaches just about everyone coming out of Korea. I'd love to see her skating. I know she qualified to the short in Minneapolis Worlds but she's among the 3 or 4 skaters that I don't think were broadcast at all.

To me, the PCS should be quite a bit higher here. Rio really does barge through most of his stuff in an almost hilarious 'masc bro, don't got time for this arm movement shit' way while this is a much, much more cohesive program and the choreography is certainly more complex and detailed.

But the TES won't be nearly enough regardless.

Seo - 3a+3t good; 3a fall; 3lo really nice; 3f+2t good; 3z nice; 3f+2a+2a good; 3s good... Well, that will keep him on the podium. And give KOR 2 spots per JGP next season... Hopefully neither they nor SVK will use all of theirs and the US will pick up some extras.

I'm so pressed because Nakata's jumps were less clean than Seo's today yet they both got glazed in GOEs, which precludes score differentiation on the basis of jump quality, and Seo won't be able to make up for that injustice in PCS either because Nakata's PCS was ALSO too high for some reason. **** this baka life.

OK, seriously, this is the last time I'll while about it in this thread, but if the tech panel and judges had done their job the champion would be different. This is another jokerfying JWC for me after Mozalev won over Kagiyama (and yes, I know some people will argue that was fair... whatever, there was an absurdity to it that transcended the scoring system).

Once again, I am in total agreeent with the final placements. Looking at the top 13 skaters .... wow .... we saw some great skating from all of them. This jr. men's event was a fabulous event. Congrats to the medalists and to all the others who made today so enjoyable.
