Kaori, Amber, Loena are all in their mid-20s. The next crop like Isabeau and Mone are 19-20. Mao is not going to be AARP in 2030.
Yeah but those women competed at the Olympics in their prime Mao has to wait until she's in her 20's before she's eligible for the Olympics.
I think that has happened before. The ISU had a panic attack because of the Russian girls and moved it up too high 16 should have been the age set and now we know whoever wins the Olympics most likely is not even the best skater in the world let alone in her own country.
Personally, I want to see women's figure skating. I'm not saying Mao is a wraith, but since it is impractical to set limits based on body type, I'm fine with the age limitations.I think that has happened before.
After a few hours reflection on my post, I agree with you. As long as it's possible for a few to get to seniors before 18(?), the bug push will be on.I think that would just mean more drugged Russians moving up early

So they compete at 13, 14, and 15-- what are they doing after that point?Perhaps a better rule would be to require that skaters can only compete at junior worlds/gp for 3 seasons, with an exception for pairs.
Lets face it Mao at this point has no reason to even compete here yet again next season for what another Junior World title? She's clearly not being being pushed staying at the level she is at now being so superior and the only way you improve is with better competition to see where you are at and what you need to improve on.
