Grishchuk and Platov - after they won their second OGM

Mishkutenok and Dmitriev - after the 1994 Olympics

Ilynikh and Katsalapov - this was devastating, after their great performance at the 2014 Olympics

I also completely loved this program. Re-watching their old programs is making me sad because they were so good and had so much potential as a team.

Makes me sad too, I think they would have continued developing and putting out some great programs.
The BackStabbing that I heard about was a shocker :(:yikes:

I wouldn't really call Savchenko/Szolkowy a split. More like she lied was less than forthcoming about plans after Sochi.

For me:

Stolbova/Klimova
Muramoto/Reed
Seguin/Bilodeau

Yankowskas and Coughlin - As noted above, they had just finished sixth at worlds, a great result for US pairs over the last several years.
Ilinykh and Katsalapov - After the bronze medal at the Olympics and with the planned retirements/time off for top teams after Sochi, I expected them to be at/near the top for the next couple seasons. It was also the way she found out.
Seguin and Bilodeau - I knew they had some injury issues but they skated so well at nationals and the Olympics. With the retirements in Canada, they would have been fighting for the top spot in Canada this year and going forward.

I really felt as if that program finally showed their potential. That they broke up after it was just heartbreaking. I still go back and watch this.

I still think Paul would have fared better if he had stayed with Vanessa. They had extremely good basics and some of the most interesting choreography in the world when they were together. I had the privilege of seeing them skate live at the 2010 Olympics and other competitions and I think their skating came across bigger and better live than on TV. In this many seasons with Piper, Paul hasn't done much more than match the results he had with Vanessa.)

The new pairing even more than 4 years later, she seems to be forcing her ideas on the pair. I also think they need to move from Carol Lane. It’s a hodgepodge combination

I do not see that happening. Paul seems to be joined to Carol at the hip. I just think that Piper's skill set is very different and does drama amazingly well. The free dance..not last yr ...maybe the year before (was it a tango?) She was in a grey/silver dress and I totally was engaged in their performance.
