The debate in other threads seems to be at the point where everyone's already got their opinion and people are repeating themselves.

Since the decision has already been made by the USFSA and in everyone else's mind, let's settle this:
Which 3 US men would you have selected to be on the Olympic Team?

Vote with whatever means that form your opinion, whether it's "body of work", a bright shiny silver medal, mind/heart/gut, uber fan-ism, tarot cards, Scientology, etc.

Chen, because he's really good.
Brown and Ma because their programs are entertaining, and since no other US man has a chance at a medal they might as well be fun to watch.

I'd take my world selections more seriously. Those results matter.

Top 3 finishers to the Olympics. Other than Chen, nobody else has a shot at a medal, so going is basically just to say 'I'm an Olympian!'

To Worlds I'd send Chen, Zhou, Rippon, because Adam would likely be stronger than Miner at placing high enough to get 3 spots for next year.

If USFS absolutely HAD to send Adam to both, I'd have him replace Zhou at the Olympics and Miner at Worlds, instead of screwing over Miner for both.

At the very least they could have made Miner first alternate for both.

Chen Miner Zhou

I think it is better to chose the team based on head-to-head competition at Nationals. In athletic competition you are as good as your last performance. Body-of-work judgments are for lifetime achievement awards.

It's very difficult. I would have gone with Chen and Zhou for both Worlds and Olys.
And Rippon or Miner as 3rd spot. Probably Rippon for the Olys and Miner for Worlds.

Chen, Miner and Rippon. I'd give Zhou the Worlds spot instead of Miner, though. He would need something after finishing 2nd last year and being left off the world team. However, I think Ross would deserve Olympics because Zhou is barely out of juniors and his programs are almost empty besides jumps.

Adam Rippon
Jimmy Ma
Nathan Chen

With new programs as follows:

Rippon should keep his SP but rearrange the music to be a megamix of Thunderpuss 2000 remixes of queer club tracks (e.g. "Tyler Moore Mary" and "Castro Boy") and title the program Body of Wurq.

Jimmy Ma should produce and record an original post-trap dancehall track called "the horrible bomb flopper rippon who is also quadless" with his own rap vocals and skate to that for his LP.

Nathan can keep his programs, but I'd love if he got new costumes inspired by Craig Green's 2018 Menswear collection.

Wang is so played out.

Meh, they should have kept the top 3. Rippon is vapid, overrated, and a weak competitor--no real potential on the international scene. But at least we get to see that whore-y short program again....

... let's settle this:

It's a fun poll in Trash Can. What anyone who participates in it happens to feel doesn't 'settle' anything, except maybe a few upset stomachs perhaps, or unsettled emotions maybe. :p ;)

Nathan can keep his programs, but I'd love if he got new costumes inspired by Craig Green's 2018 Menswear collection.

Tee hee. Thank you @Aerobicidal. We definitely needed to settle down with some Laughter, the Best Medicine.

The main problem with Craig Green's look #6 is: It ain't aerodynamic at all! Nope... For a minute there, I thought you were referencing Angela, which would not be nice, nor true. But Vera, I understand. As far as skating costumes, she's so 1992 Kerrigan aesthetic, 2010 Lysacek macho black snake-garb look. But TSL's Jonathan loves Wang's costumes on Nathan, especially the exposed zipper, which Jonathan says "shimmers" and gives him thrills. :drama:

As long as the costumes don't take anything away from Nathan's slaythan abilities, I'm gonna hit the neutral button. I don't see anything that enhances the Nemesis sp theme, nor the Mao's Last Dancer/Rite of Spring fp marathon. But, Nathan apparently doesn't need any special type of costumes anyway to work his particular brand of magic when he takes center ice. If he feels comfortable wearing these 'speed skater-like' designs, more power to him.
