Earlier this year I stumbled upon this beautiful song by Indian singer (the late) Lata Mangeshkar, with a commentary by a British singer Tanya Wells. I loved Tanya’s expressions and explanations.

This is about 15 minutes long (the song starts at 1:45) including the song which is just over 4 minutes long.

It is a devotional song, written a few centuries ago by Meerabai, who was a devotee of Lord Krishna.

Lata Mangeshkar has sung hundreds of Bollywood songs, that are very popular, but I feel this is on yet another level.

The language of the song is Rajasthani, which I don’t understand but music needs no language.

I didn't find out until few hours ago that a friend of mine and my niece's passed away. She lived in Shreveport, and she and her family decided to keep it private about her having Pancreatic Cancer. She nor her mom posted anything about it on FB. She shared pictures of her family and her grandchildren during Christmas and she looked so happy.

Kelly passed away January 19th. We're (my brother, my niece and me) in shock at the moment and it's really hard right now. Kelly was 59 years old, and from what I understand, she was diagnosed with it a few months ago.

The song that I'm listening to now is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri in memory of Kelly.
