What song are you listening to?

John Williams turns 86 tomorrow and, along with the all incredible film scores he's composed, he's also written several Olympic fanfares which we will undoubtably be hearing snippets of over the next few weeks:

Olympic Fanfare and Theme 1984 (Los Angeles)
I've been listening to the 'Olympic Fanfare and Theme' these days. It always makes me feel that there may be hope for mankind to live together in peace...well at least for a few weeks. Heck! Every single time I hear those trumpets sending out that call to the athletes, I want to run toward that cauldron to compete in something...anything!
Maybe I could qualify for Olympic cheering for humanity! :cheer2::cheer2:
This is beautifully inspiring feel-good music!
Thank you, Mr. John Williams! :respec:

Breakfast with the Beatles is playing the concert for George Harrison (his birthday would have been today) - different people singing his songs there, including his son, Dhani, who sounded just like him. (Like Julian sounded just like John. Neat.)

In honor of the World Championships right around the corner:

He's Got the Whole World in His Hands.

Various artists, or the version of the song that made the popular song charts in 1957, a recording by English singer Laurie London with the Geoff Love Orchestra.

p.s. this /\ Concert for George on PBS (here Mon. 3/5 at 8 p.m. and Sun. 3/11 at 6 p.m.) "check your local listings".

Not a song, just on Morning Joe this morning, he said he listens to Kasey Casem the 70s every weekend! Something about that Alexa thing laughing and what was Terry Jacks' big song (I knew - Seasons in the Sun) and the top songs of 1974. The Way We Were was #1. And how Paul McCartney played the kazoo on Ringo's You're Sixteen.......... I don't know what started the conversation, but it was funny. All that I remember, not the discussion of the 357 trump scandals this week.

Sorry, I seem to be the only person posting on this thread this week! There is a thread on FB called Do You Remember and they post the top songs of the week of different years. When I got down to the #10 song of 1968, Everything That Touches You, just reading it gave me chills. So I had to go listen to it on youtube. Then I happened to pick the one with scenery that gave me more chills. Geez.

^ Everything That Touches You - Love that song. I was a huge fan of The Association, especially for "Windy!" If I had to pick my all time favorite song, that's the one!

Now that the winds have finally died down, the trees have been removed from my exterior wires and the neighbors have all finished playing musical garbage cans, we are able to get back online. So I can just admit it. I've been singing..."Wild is the Wind" quite a bit since that wild Friday of March 2. WHEW!!!

In my alerts, it looks like you liked my post 11 times! Is that something admins can look at?
That's weird. I gave you likes from different posts of yours. I have no idea what happened. It has to be some type of glitch then.

Been listening to an album by Christopher Cross today. One particular song I've always loved, Ride Like the Wind.

I like the song Spinning, featuring the vocals of Valerie Carter. She released a number of great albums, but never achieved solo success.

Did you follow the link to each "like"? It's possible you got 11 likes for 11 different posts which are all in the same thread (your alerts will look identical, but each like will be for a separate post).

Yeah, I don't know. I didn't look at each one. I always just post my Sunday Breakfast with the Beatles song report (or the American Top 40 the 70's) because that's the only time I listen to the radio. Were you catching up for the last 11 Sundays in one day?

No. I just gave you likes for all the songs you posted on this page. I gave you likes because I liked them. :)

I understand that! :-) Thank you. But did you like 11 weeks of posts yesterday, when I only post on this thread on Sunday mornings? It's fine. I was just confused. I do see duplicate posts from people sometimes. I thought maybe something like that happened - a glitch in the system, not your fault.
