I dont think it has anything to do with Colorado. I believe it was all Vince (and mom). I do believe that Tom Dixon made the connection between Mie and Vincent.

I counted Vincent and co. as people "in Colorado" since I did not know who reached out.
 
Whether he is a Vince or a Vincent seems so significant. Like he would be a totally different person if I called him Vince. OMG nobody use Vinnie.

I think Tara Kayne called him "Vinny" on Instagram and he got bent out of shape about it.
 
Vincent seems to have put it together..... I think for good!

He once again scores 100+ in SP.... (is that 4 in a row? Nationals, 4CC, Worlds and WTT?)

He also had the highest tech score in SP and beating Natahn.

So proud of him!!!!!!!
 
Vincent scored 94.17 in his SP at Worlds.

He demonstrated his new 4Lz variation in practice as well as 3A+3A in sequence in these recent clips from Osaka: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bv8s9W5nkLZ/

He also worked with Cathy Reed after Worlds on a new exhibition to "Made in China" by Higher Brothers & DJ Snake that he presumably will perform on the SOI tour, along with Joji's "Dancing in the Dark" choreographed by Josh Farris.
 
I just have to say Vincent has put it all together now and is the real deal!!!

His free program was amazeballs at WTT and once again just a point behind Nathan in both portions. Vincent though wins technical in both!!

And ZERO UR for the SP and Free..its just amazing how they were able to fix that... and so quickly.....

I really think he is a threat to be World Champion next year!!!

GO USA MENS!!!!!!!

I like Vince and Im happy to see the improvements he made, but he has alot of work to do with his skating skills. I do believe he will get there.

When did you last watch him skate?

Cause Im talking about how his skating has improved quickly.. meaning in like 3 months.....

His skating skills were close to 9.0...like 3rd best out of 12 skaters.... so.... not really....

He has finally arrived in that aspect.

A lot of work? Child, I cant imagine what you must think of the skaters who finished 3-12 if Vincent has a lot of work to do.

I watched Vincent's WTT SP and LP several times. His skating has improved over time. He had injuries at the beginning of the season, hence the outcomes of the early competitions. His jumps are much improved even since Worlds. His skating skills have improved but there is still more work.

His WTT PCS (as well most of the skaters) were generous.

PS: I'm all for Mie Hamada taking over as Vincent's coach.

Off-season prediction: Vincent moves to Mie Hamada as his head coach. On that note, let's also move Ting to her since she somehow miraculously helped Rika find her consistency (apart from the 3A). Vincent and Hamada have a very understanding relationship and it seems like they're already pretty close. If Hamada helped Vincent improve THAT MUCH in only 3 months... imagine 3 years... 0_0

But, that begs a lot of logistical or operational questions - Does he move to JPN? How does the USFSA react to Hamada being a coach and how does the JSF react to Hamada coaching 'the opposition'. I remember when Mirai was in JPN temporarily w/ a Japanese coach and a lot of questions were raised, at least on this board.
 
It’s all about money and what feels right for the skater. We have many American coaches coaching Mexican, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese skaters. We have Eteri coaching Thailand and Kazakhstan skaters. As for the Japanese coaches, I remember a few of them coached skaters from other countries as well. As long as money is involved, something can and will be done to ensure the success of any contractual agreement. (Of course, there will be backlash... e.g. Evgenia and Mao Asada).

As for Vincent, he’ll probably train with Hamada from time to time, but she’ll never act as his head coach. Maybe a secondary position? They work well together and in just a few months, the results are already promising.
 
I loved seeing him with Mie Hamada -- Vincent seems like he would be a really good, almost obsessive kind of student, sort of like what we've heard about Satoko, and I feel like Hamada works well with that kind of skater. Even their body language in their interactions seemed relaxed and nice. I see a lot of improvement in a very short time. I've been so frustrated with Vincent's whole situation because I feel like he really does have an artistic sensibility and an innate musicality in him that was not ever being cultivated with his coaching team and maybe Hamada is the one to bring it out of him.
 
So happy for him and his skating in the Team Challenge. When the US team received the flowers, he even took a moment to smell his. So cute. It's going to be interesting to see how he edges up to Chen up to the next Olympics.
 
I'm so glad Vincent got to do WTT. He skated great, looked to enjoy every minute of it and was having a blast in the K&C.
