This info on Jason withdrawing was not “out” until USFS issued its press release.

Unless you count guesses from the “crying in a bathroom in Grenoble” crowd. But bitchy divas dishing doesn’t count as info that is “out there” for me. So unless there was a tweet I missed, nothing about Jason was “out there”. Did I miss a post from a reputable source?

The ISU updated the Worlds men's entries at 17:36 in Switzerland, which is 11:36 am Eastern time. USFS tweeted the news/press release link at 11:41 am ET but often will notify media outlets a little beforehand.

@becca Because it's unusual? What Adam said wasn't any different from what any other skater says when they split with a coach. Plenty of skaters and coaches say why they split. People ask why, and skaters/coaches answer.
Adam didn't say anything bad, just went into more detail than most skaters when they answer that "it wasn't working out" or "we had a difference of opinion on how to do something." I'd say a difference about off-ice training is a perfectly good reason to leave a coach and doesn't reflect badly on either skater or coach.

I actually felt Orser had bad form with the off ice training. What is Adam suppose to say.

Adam split up with Orser not long after Brian was dumped by Yuna. So another skater leaving him was seen by many as a "big deal" of sorts and saying nothing was not an option, especially for Brian. I thought they both handled it very well.

And if that split had occurred today, I'm sure Dave Lease would have tweeted the "real story" to his followers. Staying silent probably isn't a wise option anymore (if it ever was).

Lake had a rough SP (43.44), losing major points on 2 jumping passes despite landing a 3A+ in his first attempt internationally, but came back well with a 5th place FS (100.45) to finish 7th overall (143.89). In his FS he landed another clean 3A and 4 other triples (3Lz, 3F, two 3T) plus 2A+2A seq., and fell on his 3A< in second half.

Krasnozhon, Pulkinen and Hiwatashi are in Sofia, Bulgaria for Junior Worlds -- men's SP starting order draw will take place tomorrow.

For those who haven't checked recently, IceNetwork has up a new episode (Part II Olympic recap, and then they talk to Andrea Joyce). Joyce may be a nice person, but I just find her annoying and OTT with her questioning and her demeanor. I guess I've never forgiven her for that cringeworthy interview she did with Johnny Weir and Evan Lysacek back-in-the-day, where she was trolling and trying to stir something up between them on purpose, just for effect (likely with U.S. fed's full approval). To make matters worse, all three were sitting scrunged together on what looked like a loveseat. By now I suppose Johnny has forgiven her.

I really do not care what Joyce thinks about what happened at the Olympics, but I'll listen and hope to be surprised, or end up shaking my head and rolling my eyes. Let's see...

Tomoki skates #15, 3rd in group 3 (Damon Allen is with him), and Alex is the second-to-last skater in group 4 at #23 (with coach Darlene Cain).

Weighing his options but yes, he is planning on competing this upcoming season. Currently, he is preparing to leave for Japan and Korea for three weeks. He has some show performances and skating clinics. Then he returns for USFS Governing Council, then a show in Pasadena and then back to Florida to work at USFS Components Camp.

WD Alexei KRASNOZHON USA 1 - very bad luck for him to injure himself on his opening 4S fall (first attempt in competition).

The good news is that Camden & Tomoki were able to retain 3 spots for next year's Junior Worlds despite Alex's WD. However, USA is ranked the 4th after RUS, ITA & CAN and guaranteed only 1 spot per JGP unless other countries end up not using their allotted spots.

The loss of JGP slots hurts, but they were reaching for assignments this season. With Tomoki, Camden, and Andrew Torgashev all likely to earn two, they won't have that issue again. Hopefully, they will add some junior B assignments.

Also: I don't know about how deep the Italian jr men field is, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have 2 boys to assign for 7 JGP events... so there could be some spots vacated and passed on to USA.

I hope we get a proper update on Alexei soon, and not just "he's back in his hotel room resting and is feeling better". Though I suppose at least that means he likely didn't break it, which was what I feared when I first saw the footage.
