U.S. Men 2024-25 news & updates

So hanging on to do some coaching and advising, while building a team around him, but punting travel altogether seems like a better transition to eventual retirement for everyone.

He seemed to be doing some of that before anyway. From what Nathan, Adam, Ashley, and Mariah have said, Raf wasn't an extremely hands-on coach and his focus was jumps. It sounds like he thought that, once he showed a skater how to do a jump, his job was largely done.

He's always been a jump specialist. Kwan took lessons with him (with Frank's blessing) when Carroll was still her coach.

She started working with Arutunian with the 2003-4 season. She had her moments, but having seen her skate in Dortmund and Moscow Worlds, she was losing ground and was over scored in both programs in Dortmund (still OBO). Without the stalker, she may have dropped off the podium, because it was neither a great program nor a great skate.

I think he might skate better if he is not in the last two groups. Anyway is his reason of withdrawing resting his body? And what group would he e in at worlds?

idk but his team seems to have been pacing him brilliantly this season so I'm going to trust that this is just part of that and not something worse because i can't handle that lol

I guess I should have more trust. I just feel like ISU Championship points would really help.

Torgy made a lot of comments during the free skate press conference about training smarter and pacing himself, so I think the withdrawal may be related to that rather than injury... I hope. I remember he had to make the tough turnaround last year from Nats --> 4CC within the same week, and maybe he just didn't want to do that again. There didn't seem like any signs of injury during the competition, but of course you never know the skater's true condition.

Given the circumstances, I think we should also be looking at Tomoki going to 4CC right now.
