Why are the Americans becoming more competitive in middle to long distance running? They have been winning significantly more medals in major track championships and major marathons since the 2016 Summer Olympics.

1) They are learning how to train and compete better.
or
2) They are just lucky right now - no way will this success stay through 2020.
or
3) :shuffle: with TUEs - Especially the Nike Oregon Project.
or
4) Something else.

They are learning how to train and compete better. And not using their cars as much! ;)

The Brave......I guess. The Navy veteran in me has not been a fan of any military TV shows. :blah:

Happy Monday! Controversy time! :D

Today is Columbus Day. Are you a fan?

Yes - overall. True, many of the Europeans did some cruel things to the natives when they came over here. But there was overall positive historical impact, sparking the great age of Atlantic exploration, trade, and eventually the spread of Western civilization.
or
NO! - Indigenous Peoples Day rules!

November - but I think anytime is a good time to eat, watch sports/movies, and hang out with the people you love. :)

Tomorrow, the U.S. plays Trinidad & Tobago in a CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup. The U.S. is currently sitting in third (last automatic) spot and are significantly ahead of Panama and Honduras in goal points.

Trinidad & Tobago vs. USA preview - If the U.S. wins or there's a draw tomorrow, they are likely in. A loss would make things a lot more complicated. Trinidad & Tobago are distantly last in the CONCACAF's World Cup qualifying standings.

But they are playing in Trinidad & Tobago. And the field looks like this. And the U.S. is doing this.

Make a prediction:
U.S. win - by a lot
or
U.S. win - close match
or
Trinidad & Tobago win - close or not would probably be embarrassing
or
Draw

U.S. will win in a close match ( I am a Trini so I am deeply conflicted. But I would HATE it if the U.S. did not qualify )

Should Kohei Uchimura retire?

YES
or
NO

YES - if he realistically is done training and competing. IMHO, watching Usain Bolt at worlds this year was painful. Bolt really was done after Rio.

Today was Meghan McCain's first day on This View. Are you a fan of this move?

YAY - This is going to be GREAT! Meghan McCain is awesome sauce!
or
NAY - There are better women than Meghan to be the "conservative" voice. Or The View sucks as a discussion show anway.

No - at least I don't think so :shuffle:

Because there’s Halloween candy around me......

Brach’s Halloween Candy:
1) Candy corn? YAY! or NAY!
2) Indian corn? YAY! or NAY!
3) Mellowcreme pumpkins? YAY! or NAY!

YES

BTW, I do like candy but those Brach’s candy/Indian corn and pumpkins are basically like pouring pure sugar in your mouth. YUCK! :scream:

Do you guys like controversy This or Thats? Aren’t they fun? :D

Today, a federal judge has ruled that tax-exempt housing for clergy is unconstitutional.

1) Do you agree with the ruling?

YES - It gives unfair benefits to someone based on certain religious employment. Clergy aren’t employed for the “public good” like members of the military.

Plus, from the religious organization standpoint, it’s not even available to all people in religious employment. A chaplain at a faith-based hospital doesn’t typically get this benefit, for example. What makes pastors of churches so special?
or
NO - This unfairly hurts religious practice.
or
Something else

2) Will this case make it to the Supreme Court?

YES
or
NO
