"The Walking Dead": Any fans here?

I took that scene to mean that law enforcement was now not caring about doing their job of serving and protecting the community, but instead thinking only of themselves.

I took that scene to mean the police already knew something wasn't right but decided to hide it from the community.

I'm wondering if they think the problem is a Los Angeles problem, not a worldwide problem. So they are leaving problematic L.A. and everywhere else will have full supermarkets and safety...so need to stock up on anything.

Tobias told Maddi that he read stuff on the internet so it clearly wasn't just an LA problem. If she gave Tobias back his knief, it probably should mean she believed what he said right? And then they saw a walker together...

Weird...what was on instead? I just thought of how I need to search out the new episode as I don't get AMC. I was all ready to watch it later today!! :angryfire

There is a Z Nation marathon on SyFy right now. The new season starts on Friday. The characters in this series are significantly less stupid than on FTWD. They still have their dumb moments, of course, but you never wonder "HOW THE EFF DID THESE PEOPLE SURVIVE?"

Oh Z Nation, or as I like to call it, the poor man's Walking Dead. :scream:

Fear The Walking Dead, Z Nation, and later The Walking Dead and Grimm, my whole season is returning! :cheer:

The airline attack story will debut online, and will unfold this in chapters that will air during Walking Dead’s on-air telecasts. In other words: You’re watching The Walking Dead, AMC cuts to commercial break, then you get a chapter in the as-yet-untitled stand-alone airline attack drama.

This doesn't make any sense, unless chapter actually means short teaser. No producer in her/his right mind would interrupt a hugely popular show with a highly invested audience with another show, albeit a related one. The audience would just PVR and fast forward over the interrupted bits.

But I supposed it's good for Chris Hardwick. His 15 minutes of fame will probably continue to be extended.

Eh, the advantage of cable shows has been that they didn't play the tricks of the networks - with long hiatuses and short seasons and spin offs. All this game playing might prompt a tune out.

I really like Z Nation. The episode where the geek at the top of the world had CO hallucinations was really well done. I was screaming save the dog the entire episode.

I rewatched that one last night. "What is wrong with dog?" Excellent episode.

The one that followed, with the recurring dream? Not so much.

I watched a trailer on youtube for Z Nation...but it did not look good. :(

It's over the top and ridiculous and has plot holes you could drive a cement truck through, but I love it. There were two dud episodes in the first season, but I enjoyed the rest. It's sort of the Anti-Walking Dead, in that it doesn't take itself seriously and not every stranger they meet is an asshole. :p

The two of you convinced me to check it out. But my local library doesn't have season one (it came out on DVD in February). So I checked another website that lists holdings for all the libraries in my province. Zero have the first season. Guess it 'twas not to be... :(

OK. Well, it's pretty clear most of these people aren't going to make it through the first 8 episodes. Dumber than rocks.

It cracked me up putting out the trash like the garbage is going to run.

Are they going ask every zombie they meet if he or she is sick? Because how many of them have to attempt to eat your face before you think "HEY MAYBE SOMETHING WEIRD IS HAPPENING"?

I wish for once this show would let an animal live.

I dunno, I was pretty shocked. After all, in the movies, if you see a dog, that dog is surviving to the end of the movie. But I guess in zombieland, they're noisy and tasty.
It's depressing how stupid the people are. First thing they should have done when reunited is to pool all the information they have and try to figure out what's going on. Does Travis know that Madison had to crush their former principal's skull with a fire extinguisher? Crushing/destroying the brain = successful kill is kind of an important fact.

The moment that stood out the most for me was Madison + brood snuck out of the house to steal the neighbour's gun. Why if you are afraid of what is crawling around outside would you leave the house and not close the door? Then with all what Travis has seen , and with the grumpy old man using a gun to save his life, he still doesn't want his son learning how to handle a gun?!

I've been watching Fear the Walking Dead with someone who hasn't watched the Walking Dead series. She thinks they are in shock & major denial and finds that quite plausible under the circumstances. When I really thought about it I had to agree that made sense. We know what's going on and the effect it's going to have on their lives but they haven't even begun to grasp it yet.

There is a word for those who grasp situations first: survivors. Those who are playing catch up die. So far, my money is on the Hispanic guy from El Salvadore and maybe his daughter. And maybe junkyboy if he can manage to overcome the withdrawals.

Yeah but this is written by writers. Mr. El Salvador is toast and blond mom stays.

I think the mom has now grasped the situation. She hasn't totally accepted it yet, but she gets it.

The dad, on the hand.....
