I have some thoughts about the finale:

Ricks just needs to get off. If not with the lady then by himself. He has his own room now. :P He is literally turning into Shane, whom Rick himself despised back in season 2.

If I were Glenn I would probably kill Nick or let him die outside. We already know he was responsible for the death of Deanna's son and Noah, and he was trying to kill Glenn. Deanna's son was also alluding to some secrets about certain cowardly acts.

I guess Gabriel's faith can't be that strong and I really wish that Sasha had killed him. When Maggie saw them, I was hoping she would seize the rifle and kill Gabriel herself (after what she heard he said to Deanna). That would have been very cool.

When Daryl and Aaron were trapped in the car and Daryl was having his "last ciggie", I almost thought Aaron would kiss him.

Carol is undoubtedly the queen of season 5.

Looking back, I wish they had elaborated more on the Terminus people (all of whom died way too quickly after Terminus was pegged as the huge cliffhanger from Season 4 finale) or even Deanna (another cowardly leader like Dawn from the hospital).

I don't think Deanna is cowardly at all, just naive and idealistic. They have been lucky in Alexandria and she really hasn't had to deal with the brutality, constant danger and uncertainty out there.

She was taking what everyone from team Rick said into careful consideration. And when she gave Rick the signal to kill Pete, she indicated that she was with him. I think the actress who plays Deanna is rather brilliant, actually.

I expect the two of them to co-lead the community next season.

OK maybe cowardly isn't the right word. How about stupid?

I'd characterize Deanna's treatment of the abusive doctor as pragmatic rather than stupid. Access to medical care can mean the difference between life and death from a treatable illness or injury. A doctor (a surgeon at that) would be an extremely important asset in an apocalypse. Her strategy was a long shot because abusers tend to escalate their violence. Still, I understand why she would try to hang on to the groups' only physician as long as possible.

The tangled and difficult moral dilemmas are my favorite aspect of The Walking Dead. Deanna/Pete. Carol having to decide what to do about Lizzie. The young man Shane killed because he knew about the farm and would likely spill the beans to his vicious, predatory gang if they let him go. I love those story lines where the characters struggle with problems with no clear morally correct solution. Where there's no right solution and the best decision might involve doing something unthinkable.

Yes. And now both the doctor and the architect are gone - both ultimately because of Rick. And Gabriel left the gate open, letting the walkers in. So, the group has arguably caused violence to escalate in Alexandria.

Though I still think Deanna should have addressed Jessie's abuse somehow, though I don't know how exactly. Talking doesn't usually have much effect with a guy like Pete. Separate the two, and let him know he's exiled if takes revenge by not doing his job as a physician?

Also, Jessie could have muscled up and learned a thing or two from Michonne and Carol about how to throw a punch.

But every alternative scenario I come up with ends with either Pete dead at someone's hands or Pete and Jessie both dead.

Totally thought Abraham was done for, as I think I read that this was about the point in the comics where he died. But I'm glad he's lived to see another day; he's not my favorite but I find him more interesting than I thought I would.

...did anyone else hear the rumor that Rob Pattinson has been cast as Negan?
 
I could really do without Negan ever showing up. I know that won't happen, but damn, how many shitty people are out there? I prefer the moral dilemmas as well, not the "look at THESE terrible people! Let's watch them do terrible things!"
 
I am all in favor of Negan never joining the show...but the producers would never be that nice.:lol:
Hell, they'd probably try to imagine up someone worse (and that's scary).
 
I don't read the comics but so far has the TV show been in line with the comics as far as survival of main characters go? I believe Andrea and Dale are still alive in the comics but are long gone in the TV show. Maybe there will be a Negan but he will kill off Gabriel instead? What's more evil than killing a Father? :p

Carol died early, but Sophia survived. They've played around with several character's deaths. I think they kept Carol because of the chemistry between Melissa McBride and Norman Reedus whose character isn't even in the comics. I've no doubt more than one major character will be killed off next season since that pretty much happens every season. It may or may not be Glenn, but it will be somebody. Last season took Bob, Tyrece and PL's favorite Beth. Sasha is on borrowed time along with Abraham, Rosita, Tara, and whatshis name the weird pervert. Plus, they'll lose a bunch of Alexanderites. There'll be plenty of people to sit on the Talking Dead postmortem coach.
 
The shine has come off Carol or me, so I wouldn't mind too much if she dies.

Are Bob and Tyreese supposed to be major characters of the show? They have appeared in 1 and 2 out of 5 seasons of the show and don't carry major story lines on them. Other than having a full episode on their respective (dramatic) deaths, were they even that key to the story? Tyreese's only thing going for him was his conscience. Bob had a vague love story with Sasha that went on for 2 episodes. Come on.

Same with Abraham, Rosita, Tara and Eugene. They are regulars and appear nearly every single show in the past 2 seasons. But Eugene's lie wasn't even all that central to the story and once busted, he and the gang had nothing going for them.

Besides Rick, people only really want to watch Daryl, Carol, Glenn and Michonne. But the show didn't even spend much time on her once Andrea died.
 
Well, they are in the books. Daryl doesn't exist in the book and Carol was killed very early on. Glenn and Michonne are the only two who survived to reach Alexandria. Carol sort of replaced Andrea in the books who was quite different than how she was portrayed in the TV show. So, you decide who is a "major" character.
 
Early prediction:

A pregnant Maggie and/or Maggie and baby will die, mirroring Lori and Judith's death in the comics and ending the Greene family line!

There will be an audience revolt if they kill off Maggie, Glen, Daryl, or Rick.

There are plenty of other characters to kill off. Abraham, Eugene, Tara, and Sasha can all go. I'm sure there would be plenty of :cheer2:if Father Gabriel made him final exit.
