Question though: why would the Saviours know a group of Alexandrians were desperate to get to Hilltop? Coz anyone who wasn't crazily desperate in that situation would be logical enough to turn back and fortify their home base instead, knowing they were now a target.

Now that's a good question, and not an easy one to answer. But I'll take a shot at it:

The Saviours largely left Alexandria alone because the residents mostly stayed in the community and were no threat. But Rick's group is a threat, and the Saviours know that the group had formed an alliance of sorts with Hilltop. How? Well, they captured another Hilltop member, maybe the guy they hung from the bridge. So the Saviours put several plans in place to trap Rick's group when they next set out from Alexandria. Observers with a good vantage point determined that the group was going to Hilltop, so Plan X was put in place.

The guy hanging from the bridge (with the red X spray painted on) was from the "Librarian" group. He was suppose to be the last living member. That's the place Carol and Morgan were at. Plus the hanging guy Morgan cut down was another Librarian the Saviors hung.

I think the Saviors were keeping an eye on Alexandria and doing recon before attacking.

Too bad they didn't know about the Saviors earlier - the Alexandrains could have used the 2000+ zombie herd against the Saviors.

I think it is unreasonable for them to keep going after they have been trapped/ blocked so many times. It's obvious the Saviours were after them and were forcing them to pick the route the Saviours wanted them to pick. It was essentially a siege. Ever since Rick started killing their members, the Saviors probably had scouting groups surrounding Alexandria at all sides, ready to report if anyone tried to leave. They would probably figure Hilltop was the most likely destination, given their crops and medical facilities. But ALL the Alexandrians who left, even before the medical caravan (Carol, Daryl, Rosita, Denise, Glenn, Michonne, Eugene, Abraham) ran into Saviors.

I am boycotting the show for 6 months for the stupid cliffhanger. :P

In the mean time I am prepping for Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 by rewatching the last episode of Season 1 - reminds me of how much I hated it with the stupidity and the Morgan-like character in Travis. Now that Morgan is back at TWD again and killing Carol's spirits, I am more forgivable to Travis since it was the beginning of it all. Morgan is still the unforgivable one. :P

The little spin off i.e. the plane story - is pretty good. Did anyone on TWD get SCRATCHED by walkers and turn?

FTWD is no substitute for TWD. It looks like it is going to preposterous quick, with an ocean full of zombies. I'll watch only because I don't find much to watch on TV. . .and because of Mr. El Salvadore, who is such a solid person (and hot for an older man). In the zombie apocalypse, I'd want to ride shotgun with him at the wheel.

Didn't we have a bite on the plane, rather than a scratch?

Marco, if you can. Add the last 2 thread links for "The Walking Dead/Fear TWD" to the first post. (I think there is only 2 threads for TWD since it started.)

ETA: Marco and other TWD fans. I started a new thread.
