I think the finale should have been Jeffrey, Amy, Madi and Jordan, with Jeffrey the winner. But that's wishful thinking. Like I said in an earlier post, might as well not waste our time and just crown Jordan the winner. Sawyer was pretty obvious last season as the chosen one, but not so in your face as Jordan.

I was pretty sure that Emily Ann would be in the finale -- either on votes or twitter save. But I echo the thoughts of those wondering who in the world is voting for Barrett. His being in the top 3 ruined last night for me because of having Madi and Jeffery both trying to get the save. It was an off night for Madi -- I think that her nerves totally did her in. :( Only saving grace for me was getting to hear Jeffery's performance -- if he hadn't won the twitter save I would have wanted to throw things! Fortunately for my possessions, the audience got it right.

IMO Sawyer should not have been such a shoo-in as Jordan. He has a pleasant voice but I never understood anyone going gah-gah over him. I will probably never buy any of his music. IMO Jordan has a once-in-a-generation voice. I think he deserves the accolades he receives.

Finale night! Is anyone else watching? It's a bit underwhelming for me, but there are bright spots in a few great performances. I'm trying to like Emily Ann more, but she just doesn't seem to connect with her songs. I enjoyed Mumbles more than her. If things are fair, it should come down to Jeffrey vs Jordan.

Jeffery vs. Jordan is what I think it should be too. I love Jordan and am voting for him but I'd be fine if Jeffery won. I think Blake's team was the weakest one he's ever had so I'm irritated that two of them ended up in the finale this season. :shuffle:

Jordan should win by about 400%. Emily Ann was horrific on Blue Christmas and Barrett was even worse on Silent Night. And Jeffery...was there.

I was really expecting Jordan to sing Ave Maria and wonder what Adam's original choice for the xmas song was...

Liked the Jordan/Adam duet. Jeffrey picked the best X-mas song, but didn't sing well. LOL! @Adam for saying all his faves are in the finals 2nite. What about the ones that didn't make it to the finals? Not his faves?

If the iTunes rankings are any indication, then I think Jordan will win -- he has #1, #3, #5, and #10 (his Queen song from last week is still top 10). Emily Ann has #2 and #6 and both Jeffery and Barrett also made the top 10, although I'm still mystified by Barrett's numbers.

The weather was extremely windy here last night, so my NBC reception was again very spotty -- I heard 90% of Jordan's "Climb Every Mountain" and nearly the same of his Christmas song (I, too, thought that he would sing "Ave Maria" after Jeffery had "O Holy Night"0. I couldn't hear much of any of Jeffery's songs and only heard enough snippets of Emily Ann's to be able to know what she sang for her Christmas song and duet with Blake. I heard absolutely nothing of her closing song -- except to hear Blake speculating that it could be an upset maker. Mercifully I only heard about 5 seconds of Barrett singing "Silent Night."

I thought Jordan was great, but then I watched the Adele concert. Oh.

I do think it should be between Jordan and Jeffrey. Emily Ann was good with Blake, but not on her own. I have never understood Barrett.

Jordan - Climb Every Mountain - he sounded good but I didn't like the arrangement at all & he did too many unnecessary runs
Emily Ann - Blue Christmas - she sang like someone was making her sing - in tune but very karaoke & bland
Barrett/Blake - Rhinestone Cowboy - Barrett doing his corny act again...also singing badly
Jeffrey - O Holy Night - this should have been wonderful but he hit so many bad notes that I wondered what was wrong with him
Jordan/Adam - God Only Knows - 1st performance I really enjoyed, they sounded great together
Barrett - Die a Happy Man - he's not my favorite but he did sing this one in tune
Emily Ann/Blake - Islands In The Stream -they sounded good but as usual Blake chose an inappropriate song with his underage contestant - they changed some lyrics but still ick
Jeffrey - Stay - this was as good as his save song last week, my #2 of the night
Barrett - Silent Night - a complete trainwreck of a performance, this just proves Blake's fans will buy anything
Jeffrey/Gwen - Leather & Lace - this wasn't really suited to Gwen's voice but Jeffrey sounded good
Jordan - Mary Did You Know - my #1 of the night, tasteful, restrained, & beautiful
Emily Ann - Burning House - she looked like she suddenly acquired 15 pounds of hair but if you didn't look at her she sounded great - my #3 even though I'm not a country fan

On iTunes Jordan has the #1, #3, & #5 spots from last night's songs, & the #10, #17, #34. #44, #47, & #81 from previous weeks. I don't see how anyone else can possibly win. It's more of a landslide than even Sawyer Fredricks did.

Jordan really should have sung Bridge Over Troubled Water. He would have absolutely KILLED it.

Mary Did You Know was the only performance that warranted my iTunes credits. I actually prefer Jeffrey, but something was off with Oh Holy Night.

I thought some notes from O Holy Night were bad, but I thought I was mishearing things after the judges "critique". (Seriously, why do they bother to have the judges comment? That's one of the few things I dislike about the show, there's no constructive feedback. And not every performance this season has warranted a tongue bath.)

I loved Jordan's rendition of Mary Did You Know? He really sang well in all of his songs.

I thought Barrett sounded better than Blake in his duet.

Emily Ann gets more meh by the week. I didn't mind her as much during the early rounds, but I don't think her live performances have been believable for the most part. She does have a strong voice, but she sounded like she was boring herself singing Blue Christmas. She sang Burning House well, but again, I feel like she doesn't have the emotion of the song. But I do love the original, so I may be being really hard on her.

Personally, I'm hoping for a Jordan win!

My bro said that if Emily Ann doesn't make it in singing, she could be a porn star. She has the look of a porn star, LOL! BTW, he said the same of Carrie Underwood.

Well, that was the right result out of the top 4. But based on the finale show, I would have replaced the rest of the top 4 with any of the contestants who sang Love Train.

I think that by the finale, to criticize a singer is almost too late. But I agree. Jeffrey was so flat on some of the notes that my ears were bleeding. :(

He was off, and Emily missed at least 1/3 of the notes in the first half of Blue Christmas.

That intro was awkward. The black contestants weren't the only ones who were soulful this year although those 5 were all fabulous (except IMO Celeste). But if they were going to put them together on a song did they have to choose a 40+ yr old song?

Minor kerfluffle in Boston over who gets to sing the U.S. and Canadian national anthems at the Winter Classic hockey game between the Bruins and Les Habs. Rene Rancourt is out, Jordan Smith is in.

Rancourt is a local institution and it IS a Bruins home game, but the network chooses for any nationally televised game. At least we don't have to worry about Jordan butchering the high notes, but the audience will be deprived of Rancourt's stunning version of the Canadian en francais.

Just got back from vacation. Well, it was no surprise that Jordan is the winner and Emily is the runner up. I predicted that when the contestants performing live were announced.

I've already forgotten who Emily is. After about 5 mins I remembered the little country girl but I couldn't tell you what anyone other than Jordan sang all season.
