The Good News Thread

Stray dog who battled a pack of coyotes for forty five minutes found a furever home! His fight for survival was caught on camera.

On the Third Hour of the Today Show featured a Tool Library in Chicago fueled by donations of everything from standard handyman tools to camping equipment to KitchenAid mixers! This has prompted some members to find new vocations and/avocations or having new experiences without initially investing in the new equipment expense. The library charges an annual on what one can pay and offered fees have ranged from $2 to $100.

Happy International Mahjong Day, y'all!

I don't know if any of you were like me, but I hated that I lost the Windows 7 games when I took the free upgrade to Windows 10. Shortly after that, a Microsoft MVP member from Microsoft Community loved the Windows 7 games especially Mahjong like I did and came up with a Windows 7 Game package to download which solved that problem.

I still play Mahjong along with Free Cell, Spider Solitaire and Hearts. I don't know if the download works with Windows 11, but it certainly does with Windows 10. I've had a high score of 762 since 2022 with Mahjong, and I have yet to match or beat that score since then.

Here's a link to the article and where the Windows 7 Games can be downloaded.

Happy playing, y'all!

Well it's good news for my family so not sure if I should post here but my daughter's play is premiering in Toronto this fall at Theatre Passe Muraille! She is still an undergrad in Drama and English here at U of T but after winning best production at Dramafest at Hart House theatre U of T she was given the opportunity to have her play presented as part of Theatre Passe Muraille's 2025-26 season.

Very exciting for her!

If anyone is in Toronto and interested link below

Thanks in advance for allowing me to brag about my talented girl!

After the extravagant (garish?, gaudy? pretentious?) Bezos wedding here is something touching and heartfelt. Also if you know the music used I'd love the title:
