The Amazing Race 29 - complete strangers

Happy to see the last of the arrogant male team. I can't say I really care who wins although I think it would be funny if Scott & Brooke pull off the win.

Please, no. I can just hear Brooke telling Phil that she's too tired and CAAAAAAAAN'T lift the check.

So does anyone know who far behind the boys would have been taking the Subway and then not gotten the bad cab driver taking them 20 minutes in the wrong direction? It seemed like the Subway wasn't that big a miss, but it was the lost cab driver that lost it for them.

Well at least there's only one more episode of Brooke whining! Please god don't let them win!!!!! :P

I found the gaming challenge not that interesting to watch. Better to be there in person I would guess. But I did not know the game either. The Cups challenge was very cool.
I hope the show goes back to casting real people, and all ages etc. I feel less engaged this season.

As much as I dislike both Brooke and Scott, I surprisingly found myself happy that they won that last leg. Am glad Tara finally got past that roadblock and elminated "the boys".

I thought the main problem the boys had was the subway choice. So I didn't understand their saying they didn't want to go out "this way." But maybe the taxi was the bigger problem. I did like that they never gave up. Now I'm rooting for Mom & Dad.

Eh, he was frustrated so I don't blame him. It did not bother me as much as the incessant whining and shrieking by what's-her-name.

I'm not into any of the remaining contestants but I'm hoping I might run into Matt, Floyd or Becca in Colorado. :)

I think it was a combination of missing that one subway train by seconds and then the taxi taking them the wrong way. If only one of these issues had occurred, they might have made it ahead of Tara and Joey. After all, they were the only team to make it through the gaming without having to wait for the blindfold.

I find it interesting that Scott's comment along the lines of "there have been plenty of teams who have won the Race that haven't won a leg," now is something that only pertains to London & Logan. Brooke & Scott won their first leg this episode (and dare I say it was refreshing that she FINALLY found something that she could do?), so they aren't going into the last leg winless. It'll be interesting if that statement is editing foreshadowing. However, I really can't seem to see L&L winning, to me they've been so far in the background all season long, that it would seem strange for them to win from an editing standpoint. I could be wrong, Survivor has edited winners to have a backseat in the gameplay before (Natalie, Michelle, Vecepia, etc), so who knows.

^^ :cheer2: :cheer: I just hope they go back to the original casting of Teams who have some sort of tie to each other (couples, friends, siblings, partners, parent & child, whatever as long as they know each other). No more gimmick or stunt casting please!! :P

LOL - Brooke is a champion whiner and I can't do it person - she very good at those!

I think Brooke and Scott are getting a winners edit. The Amazing Race producers like to shove the most annoying people in our faces and then hand them the $1 million check. Not always, but it seems like it was often the case especially in the earlier seasons.

And she is infinitely more annoying than Flo. Re-watching that season, I can't believe that when it actually aired I was rooting for them to win.

TAR is best with pre-existing relationships. I hope they don't experiment with the randoms anymore.

I hate it when Teams I don't like end up winning, and its pretty clear watching the finale that it will end up that way. Takes all the excitement out of watching. Once Mom and Dad went to the wrong location I knew it was over. At least we don't have to listen to her damn whining anymore!!!!!

Please please please TAR producers go back to the original concept of the show! No more stunt casting! No more gimicks! Please cast people who are a Team before the show begins and only pick from people who actually apply to be on the show! Thank you! :P

It was so boring that the first place team had such a huge lead almost all the way through the finale.

I will say that it was pretty cool that a few weeks ago my friends took me to Chicago for my 30th birthday, and we went to most of the places that were featured on the episode tonight. Actually, I think the speedway was the only place we didn't go to. It was neat seeing all the buildings and sights that were fresh in my memory. It wasn't neat having to hear Brooke whine I CAN'T a few more times before the season wrapped up.

Ugghhh! I can't even.
And so not close.
I did like the task at Wrigley - knowing the placements - cool task - had to think of something positive to write.

That finale was so disappointing. First of all, the winners were disappointing... at least last week Brooke was tolerable but this week was back to the whine. But yet another anticlimactic finale... happens way too often now. I don't like it when they have tasks that can't be done at the same time (like the car lap one), esp. for the finale. Maybe if Tara & Joey didn't go to that one wrong place for the postcards it would've been closer but I feel like editing just tried to make it seem closer than it was. And knowing the placements was just too easy at the end, not much chance of catching up there. I kept wondering if all the people who helped Brooke make the spoon way back when regretted it - just one more reason to hate alliances in TAR. Oh well, just glad this show was not canceled I still love to watch it.

I kept wondering the same thing. I also wonder if Brooke feels that winning the race was worth the number of people who now think she is a whiny basketcase. But kudos to Scott for never giving up on her.

I'll admit I did hope Brooke and Scott would flunk the simple math and head to the wrong section to look for their next clue.

I actually liked Scott, so while I wanted Brooke out in the worst way, I was happy for Scott. I did hate that the car thing could only be done one at a time. That really gives an unfair advantage but overall I liked the finale. I just wish the final three had been Team Fun, Mom and Dad and the Boys.

I thought I wasn't going to like this season because of the format, but it actually worked out well. It was interesting to see the dynamic build between the teams. I certainly enjoyed it far more than last season with the media whores.

Same with me. I never thought about the teams being strangers after the second week. It felt like a regular old TAR season.
