Que? I never knew this about CS's figure skating background. The PP skate shows he knows his stuff though. What is his fs story?

Thanks for posting that! I hadn't seen it in a while. Too bad she couldn't skate this well at Worlds. I also think the judges marks are way too low. This was a first ever! That, plus her incredible spins and overall clean skate would be 5.8/5.9 technical in my book for the time.

I still wonder why she couldn't do the other triples. She tried triple flip but I've never seen a clean one from her, only the triple lutz.
 
I still do not understand how Kay was able to pull off 3Lz with so little height.

Two amazingly beautiful montages...what a tribute to Michelle and all she has meant to many skating fans. The first one made me cry. I still remember seeing her at 13 and watching her through the years was such a joy. What an athlete and what a lady. I still miss her and always will.

I only add an eight element, a throw double axel. Could you imagine that today with the actual pairs? (Quality over difficulty! Wow!)

Watch the steps sequences, nothing to do with the sloppy steps we are seiing these days (slow, always stop, bizarre moves, etc.) The steps of GG was amazing, speed (a lot!), unisson, and with the music!

If a skater has great technique on a jump then she should be able to complete that jump at least 95% of the time. Kay was inconsistent on her triples.

Well I could only comment on that one particular triple lutz. It is possible that a skater has overall poor technique but in one instance does a jump very well and correct from a technical standpoint. In this particular 3lutz, it looks like her technique was right on.

I read a biography of him a few years ago but as I'm senile, I don't completely remember his story. A fascinating guy. CS ("Sparky") was a hockey player and a skating dad--his girls skated. His wife arranged for and built "Snoopy's Own Rink" (is this what it's called?) in Santa Rosa.
 
I'm so sad tripleaxel's account has been suspended but with that many videos it was only a matter of time sadly :(

Rita won the silver here behind Schuba largely based on her figures. But there are many pleasing aspects to her skating. :)
 
Probably it's wise for youtubers to run multiple accounts so that not too much material is lost when (not if, when) they cancel an account of yours.

I really like the glide to her edges. :)

From the 1990 tour Brian and Katarina Skating, Witt and Boitano skate a number from their Carmen on Ice TV special. This performance is in Calgary where 2 years earlier they both won Olympic gold.
