And the British apparently love Kneecap? And Denzel Washington has still never received a BAFTA nomination but people thought he somehow was going to get his first for Gladiator II?

Hugh Grant (Heretic) and Sebastian Stan (The Apprentice) are in Lead Actor but Daniel Craig (Queer) is OUT??!! I’d figured the British love for Craig would get him in. Especially with SIX spots.

Also, it appears that Sing Sing is still surviving.

Well, they did say that on average 8 out of 10 of their picks get Oscar nods. So while it's a pretty good prognosticator, it's not perfect.

If enough Academy members actually voted for Juror #2 for Best Picture as a “middle finger” to Warner Bros. for how they treated this (likely) last film for Clint Eastwood, I will HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! on this thread.

They raved over their top 2,but I am not going to see those movies even if they win the BP Oscar and/or major acting awards. Just not my type, though I may see Anora.

I have seen all the 2024 movies I want to see, except The Brutalist. It will help if one of the theaters near me shows it. It’s a pain to drive to Scottsdale (It’s a pain to drive anywhere in the Phoenix metro area).

ETA- I couldn’t find that list on Golden derby again.

It is hard to predict BP, Best actor/actress, best director.

There is no clear front runner, except Culkin in the supporting actor category.

I think best actress is the most loaded and I think that supporting actress has changed by the day, I think you’ll see Jamie Lee Curtis now in with a 90% chance and I don’t think anybody would’ve had her in as far as two weeks ago.

I also have a feeling Margaret Qualley, who I once would’ve said will be in there for supporting actress now has a less than 50% chance she will.

Ugh! Not going to see it, even if it wins 13 Oscars.

I am shocked that Conclave didn’t get the Director nomination. It won many other awards,though not the GG, and I thought it was very well directed. This is bad news because now it has no chance of winning other big awards either.

Not sure why Anora is so popular. I may see it but Theyare showing it very late inthe evening here (9:30 pm start time). The nominations may bring it during daytime.

Wow, almost every prediction has Jamie Lee Curtis as the fifth slot or even the fourth slot for supporting actress and went to Monica Barbaro and Felicity Jones instead.

What a shame that both Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis were shut out. All the indications were good for Jamie Lee Curtis, as she got the two most important ones, SAG and BAFTA.
