Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir : Just For Us # 45

So the entries for ACI are out and VM are competing. But so are WP and GP which I find kind of weird, no?

Completely agree, I don't really get the point of having all 3 top ice dance teams there, why not split it between other senior B competitions like always?

Some of the decisions SC makes are truly perplexing. Or maybe the teams requested the assignment, but still it's a head scratcher.

But you could see Russian girls - Radionova and Medvedeva in Bratislava, Tuktamisheva and Zagitova in Bergamo. And in Bratislva Astahova-Roganov with Zabiyako-Enbert.

Maybe they want as many of their team to do a Senior B and this one would be $$$ easy on them and easy travel on the skaters?

ETA to say that MR would not have been my first choice, and I must say I'm a little disappointed, but I think there's a silver lining here. It's such a powerful heart-breaking story, and V&M are such great story tellers that if this is their music I think we'll see something great.

Has MR been confirmed?? :(

No, it's just a rumour.
Maybe after the HPC at the end of the month we'll get some real news.
Oh, thank goodness. I'm not a huge fan of the idea. I think they would obviously do it very well, but I'm not a fan of the music and the idea as a whole seems generic to me.

I think for them at this stage of their career generic would be to skate on some classical music a lyrical type program.
Of course most think that's what is needed to win gold but they have already won two Olympic medals doing that sort of thing. I think, because they are two time Olympic medallists, that they must have had the hardest of times picking music. So I just want to see them skate something they have fun doing with some :kickass: lifts and show a story in a way no other team can and I will be satisfied whatever the music or theme. To see them smiling and enjoying what they are doing is a great way to leave this sport, and skate gods willing it will be enough for them to win their third Olympic ice dance medal.

Kind of crazy that on the one hand I can't wait for ACI and on the other hand I don't want the season to start knowing it will probably be their last one. I have to remind myself that I just have to enjoy every competition and every performance. Hopefully I will like both the SD and the FD!!

they currently hold world records for highest score in original and short dance, as well as combined total score. Did I miss something here ?

Their 2010 OD score set at Worlds is the highest score recorded and since the OD is no longer competed it will stay like that forever...
Not sure but did they have the only OD score over 70? Because it would be cool if they have the only OD score of 70 and the only SD scores over 80 too.

Yes they do, the second best OD score was set by D/W who scored 69.29 points. What ever will happen next season they will always have a place in the history books of ice dance (they also have the second best CD score, the second best FD score at the moment, and the best OD, SD and total combined scores at the moment).
