After posting in the M/D thread I started to wonder when the "no tights on male figure skaters"-rule was instated? Artur Dmitriev wore tights both for Don Quixote and for Rach at Lillehammer 1994, and I had no objections
Do the ISU wants to stop male skaters from looking to much like ballet dancers, as it's a sport? I feel the rule is kind of crap now that woman are allowed to wear pants, and so also tights, but men aren't? Sexist, much? I can't really see it becoming a big problem either, as I can't imagine a collected bunch of the skating men running out buying tights for their new programs. Some will, but the majority won't. So, what's the deal? We are being robbed!
