Sequential Twizzles W:4 M:4 (W:4 M:3 after review)
Midline Step Sequence W:1 M:2
Pattern Dance Type Step Sequence 1
Choreo Rhythm Sequence

Rotational Lift 4

Original music selections, but they lost the plot of performance about half way through. Unique position in the lift, but an upside down split position - will the judges accept it.

62.11 = 8th Place

(P&P). I hope these two hang in there. I still really like them. I think they're actually more of a classical team, but learning all the different stuff is good for them.

I love that Harris' costume references J-Lo's infamous plunging dress. :respec:
Horribly.

I like the music but I think they are throwing levels out at this point because I never really get much from them that says they are better than some of the top teams here.
HOWEVER, since they did get into the free dance...........

well they did what they needed to do. I like the program for them too even if i don't love them lol

Well, that was nice from HarChan. TES says they're EASILY qualifying, lol.

I was questioning Holly's dress, but now I realize it's clearly inspired by JLo's famous Oscar dress. Good skate, but this program was very generic as to the theme, and composition.

73.35 = 1st Place

I'm going to keep pushing for an ISU rule change for the next pre-Olympics Worlds (because why not modify again) that spots should go down the results list with exact placements until filled. IF a country earns two or three spots based on the placements of other teams higher up the rankings, then send the teams that are lower-ranked from the free dance or pairs free skate (and not getting a spot before it's maxed out) to this competition. The end :-P

Assuming the Lithuanians are 1st after the RD, I'd be okay with the current top 4 getting the spots.

r/a have some of the shortest progressive in ice dance

I'm gonna be just as shady as I have been the last idk 3 years or so with them, but if anyone deserves the Moniotte/Lavanchy treatment it's them. I said it long before the Worlds catastrophe but everything about their overall quality screams second group at Worlds (and second as in after first FD group, not penultimate).

Whelp, IAM grabs all the GOE.

The only things really satisfying about this RD segment are 1) WangLiu are going to be out of the final group for the FD, and 2) ReiMaj's RD was really entertaining in all the best ways.

(R&A) One of my favorite RDs thus far this season. It's cute & charming & sells regardless of whether you lived through the decade or not. Highlights them both. Sticks to my no-more-than-two-songs-is-ideal-in-the-RD rule and rotates back to the original piece for the end. Plus, it's just fun.

Remember Orihara still has a big question mark to her citizenship as far as I know. Finland has other team(s?) that can try to make the lower overall minimums to hold the spot.

But there may be 5 spots here.

Isn't that how it used to be? The Knierims were 10th at 2017 worlds and the US only got one spot for the Olympics. I'm not sure when it changed.

80 is a truly wild score for how r/a actually skate but idk it doesn't matter here

Same for SWE, right? Or did Reitan get citizenship?

Not really, because back then hypothetically teams finishing ahead of them that earned multiple entries (ex. say France had one entry but then finished 6th) would automatically get that second spot and a total quota before hitting the max.

Now, as we all know, additional spots being added (such as what Georgia and Spain, for example, are trying to do here) have to actually be confirmed rather than just given.
