I agree. I think this program has a ton of potential and will be amazing if/when he skates it clean.

The back-to-back GPs have definitely taken all the gas out of his tank though, lol.

I tolerate this free skate from Ilia the most of all of his, and I think it's good for him but it's just the same story of being relatively empty, the quads and triples don't have much going in, there's no stretch or even an edge on any of the landings, some of the quads continue to look much tighter than they have in the past, etc.

Components score should still be around 80-82 IMO as a max. Not pushing 90.

Malanin: 4F HUGE. 3A not much flow out. 4Z. 3R two foot landing. Combo spin. 3Z/E/3A easy. 4T/3T. 3F/3A. Camel spin. Footwork, a bit slow. Choreo sequence, backflip landing on one foot. Combo spin.

Easily as good as SKAM but doing this two weeks in a row is damn impressive. Also I think he needs to embrace the camp of this music and costume more, it's all so OTT.

I think skated clean, and with more connection to the music like in his SP, I could be very into this program. I like the song and the choreography does seem to work well.

I love this not-Vampire program. I really like his SP too, genuinely like it. I can't believe I'm becoming a fan of Malinin. That's just...werid.

Now, he gets to be a regular high school kid until December. He did shows all summer as well as train for his competitive season. The kid is the poster child for the energizer bunny.

That was a 1-footed flip. I don’t know if anyone else has done that on competitive ice since the 1998 Olympics.
