Shoma Uno @ Tutberidze’s Training Camp – Tarasova/Averbuch comments.
Given this is unexpected and likely to be given attention while he is training in Novogorsk, here is a topic of its own.

Olympic Channel announcement:

Japanese press

Russian commentary
Tarasova comments: Uno made the only right choice to try with Tutberidze.
https://tass.ru/sport/6528765

T: I think (Uno’s parting with his coaches) was not an easy decision. And since he already made up his mind, then, in my opinion, he made the only right choice, to try with Tutberidze and her team, because Tutberidze is an exceptional coach, with very strong specialists assisting her. In a joint effort they can help Uno to become more confident and improve technically. He is already an outstanding figure skater, but in Tutberidze’s group even girls are taught to fully rotate the quads.

I am very happy for both, for Eteri Georgievna, and for him. It is always very interesting to work with Japanese skaters. I worked with Japanese skaters for many years. I think a presence of such skaters will be very beneficial/interesting for (the skaters in) her group”.

Averbuch comments: This is not a surprise (sensation)
https://rsport.ria.ru/20190608/1555407112.html

A: It’s wonderful that there is an exchange of experience in figure skating. Russian specialists are considered the best not by accident, and Eteri Tutberidze’s group at present is an absolute leader in single skating. Primarily in ladies singles skating, of course, but I am certain that Eteri Georgievna will be able to benefit our Japanese friend in many aspects.

There is nothing extraordinary (sensational) in Uno coming to train. There must be such attention (interest) towards our coaches from foreign skaters, because they train (develop) world champions, the best of the best. Uno – is an amazingly talented skater. He is coming to this summer training camp to learn (for internship), and this is a normal situation in the world of figure skating, especially because he is searching for a permanent coach to work with.

And the girls will be happy…

I am excited to see what happens. I think it's a good move for Shoma.

I have no idea why media posts commentary as if Uno's transfer is a done deal. He is coming to train in a summer camp. He and Eteri needs to BOTH see a future in this cooperation and to announce it official.

But... in case he and she make a deal, then this article is rather interesting, but as a "speculation".

Hopefully she doesn’t break him like she did Adian and trash him when he leaves.

well, let's see... did Shoma ever missed training without a good reason, or had a hissey fit and threw his skates into the garbage can in front of kids and the coach?..... I can't think of ever hearing something like that about him. so there is the answer what Eteri will never do with him... :D

Shoma Uno arrived Novogorsk camp.

It looks like he arrived with some representatives from Japanese TV because they also interviewed Alena Kostornaya about the training practices, and her own plans.

The coverage on the Russian side (and comments on social media) are positive "Younger russian skaters stand to benefit from training next to skaters like Uno".

"This is a good chance (to learn) for the russian team".

Interesting that Shoma Uno's GP locations is France and Russia, both close to Moscow and on the European continent. Maybe he does plan to do more work at Sambo, if not permanently then in segments.

For me it certainly puts Eteri as his coach to the top of the list.
