I saw Julianna Margulies at a restaurant one night in NYC. She looked like a million bucks. She was there with Connie Britton, Blythe Danner, Carla Gugino and a couple of other people I couldn’t identify. They were there for Carla Gugino’s birthday (I think). I love Julianna (love ER and The Good Wife; plus she has an awesome name even if she spells it wrong ) and Connie so I made my husband switch seats with me so I could stare at them all night

Anyway, I don’t really have a point, except I wish we still lived in NY. My baby and Sasha’s could be friends and then Sasha and I could be mom-friends.

Came back to add that Julianna Margulies even thanked her parents-in-law in an acceptance speech.

Maybe family dinners would be anxiety-inducing due to being surrounded by all this brilliance in politics, academia, law, finance, arts and sports. Still wanna be invited though.

Interesting, her ex husband is dating Lysacek’s cousin. I believe they met last summer when Lysacek was still involved with Vera and they were at her birthday party in the Manhattan.

Sasha Cohen ... announced her engagement to Geoffrey Lieberthal on Oct. 18, and over the weekend they announced their family is already growing.
“Geoff and I are so excited to welcome a little one into the world!” she wrote on Instagram on Sunday. “Thank you to everyone in our lives for making today such a memorable one.”
In the corresponding photo, the two-time Olympic figure skater is holding a giant balloon that spells “Baby,” while happily showing off her growing baby bump.
Cohen, 35, confirmed to TeamUSA.org that she is due Jan. 8.

Because your kid will remember when he's older that his parents weren't married for a bit when he was a baby.

Now I am perplexed as anyone by people who have kids together but say things like "I'm not ready for the commitment of marriage" but these two are engaged. So they are willing to make the commitment to get married. They just aren't doing it in the order that makes sense to you. I'm guessing it's because there are considerations that you aren't aware of that are important to them.

Now I am perplexed as anyone by people who have kids together but say things like "I'm not ready for the commitment of marriage" but these two are engaged.

Some people simply don't believe in marriage. And some of those can still make and keep commitments no less than they would if they were married - including a commitment to a child. And common-law relationships are considered much the same as marriage, at least in some countries, and after a certain period of time.

Some people may not agree with you that it is the 'right' thing to do.

I think it is purely ornamental, and is a sculpture, probably an expensive one. It's ugly IMO, but each to her/his own.

Some people simply don't believe in marriage.

Which is different than the people who do believe in it but decide they aren't ready for the commitment but are ready to have a kid together - which is a much bigger commitment. That is what I find perplexing.

But I've given up on understanding other people's relationships. It's not like these decisions have any impact on my life in any way. It's just interesting to think about.
