i like Trixi. It will be interesting to see how her "popularity" holds up sans Katya sidekick.I understand that Trixie is possibly the most popular queen of this group, but the appeal is completely lost on me. Her look doesn't interest me, I don't think she's funny or clever, and I am still somewhat horrified that she was going to be Anne Frank on Snatch Game.
Maybe I'm too PC, but I don't think the Holocaust belongs in drag just like I don't like it in figure skating. And--maybe this is what's really driving my opinion--I think someone would have to be extremely smart and funny to pull it off if it could be pulled off. Trixie is facile with her comebacks, but I just personally don't them funny. Shock value is something I generally like, but I don't think it's automatically a good thing. (Again, I could make a reference to figure skating and say that about conceptual ice dance programs.)i like Trixi. It will be interesting to see how her "popularity" holds up sans Katya sidekick.
She is the absolute queen of the quick one liner comeback. Sometimes she just fires them off like a machine gun. I find that funny and admirable. Several of the queens have that crickets and then a 2 day delay and lame comeback response to them which always makes me sad.
Funny that someone who self professes to like "out there" drag is horrified by Anne Frank on snatch. To me that's just the straight up shock value that drag covets. I suppose the proof of the pudding is in the tasting, as several ggod ideas have turned out lame on snatch while other potentially dull ideas like ben's maggie smith turned out brilliantly.
Thanks for posting this. I really shouldn't have used the term "somewhat horrified" up-thread, because that's an overstatement and the audition video is certainly not horrifying to me. I don't think it's funny in the least, but clearly a lot of people do. Also, the online fandoms associated with the show (which someone could and likely has written a dissertation on) indicate how much queer youth culture has changed since when I felt like I understood it practically centuries ago.Okay do not watch if you are offended by this sort of thing - I found Trixie's Anne Frank audition video

These are all my favs too. I really liked bob the first half of his season and then it got very "that was nice, what else can you do" in its own way. I "wuz robbed" for kim chi hard after that.I never really got Bob but my favourites have been Katya, Ginger Minj, Bendela, Jinx Monsoon, Jujubee and Kim Chi.
We get the Trixie and Katya show here in Australia on SBS. I really enjoy it. And thankfully one of the pay streaming services Stan shows RPDR on the same day as the US. Plus I really like Fashion Photo Ruview.
