On International Women's Day (March 8) the Duchess of Sussex was named Vice-President of the Queen's Commonwealth Trust (the Duke of Sussex is President, and Sir Christopher Geidt, the Queen's former Private Secretary, serves as Chairman). DoS Meghan also attended a panel discussion that day, convened by the QCT at King's College. Joining her were other distinguished women who are involved in important work helping to empower women and girls, including singer and activist Annie Lennox, African-British model Adwoa Aboah (she founded the support group, GurlsTalk: https://www.gurlstalk.com/), and former Australian prime minister, Julia Gillard, et al.

Some recent articles prefer instead to focus in a negative way on Amy Pickerill planning to leave the Sussexes' employ after their baby is born, in order to spend time abroad. It's not an unexpected occurrence, and reports indicate that Meghan and Amy are close, and as a result Amy will still serve in an unofficial capacity as an informal confidante to the Duchess. This article refutes the negative headlines: https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/2019/03/226561/meghan-markle-sexist-headlines-amy-pickerill
And this offers more thorough reporting:

Queen Elizabeth looked impeccable as usual in a colorful orange outfit, as she made her first Instagram post. Here's the post: https://www.instagram.com/p/ButJtIMnBrV/

Commonwealth Day service:

https://ca.hellomagazine.com/royalt...ton-meghan-markle-commonwealth-day-service/1/

Two lovely outfits for the Duchesses. (It is really all about the fashion for me!)

I hear you @mag - I love the fashion.

Here is the DM page full of photos - several showing the Duchesses of Cambridge and Sussex clearly enjoying each others company and sharing a warm greeting and plenty of smiles (feud - what feud ;)). At the bottom of the article are pictures of the Duchess of Sussex at an event held earlier at Canada House to also celebrate Commonwealth Day. I'm not too sure whether I like that colour on her - it seems too dark - and the fit of the coat seems a little too loose still it's good to see her experimenting. I much prefer the outfit she wore to the service at the Abbey - the close ups really show the detail on the coat and dress - really lovely and it suits her. - she is fairly glowing!! The Duchess of Cambridge looks gorgeous in red and as always QEII looks awesome - this time in deep purple.

I usually hate Camilla's clothes but that royal blue is a great color for her. I loved Kate's red & Meghan's coat outfit. And of course the Queen always has great choices.

Camilla's looks more liked a deep, jewelled purple to me, and I like it :) Very regal.

I like the early look on Meghan, except for the hat. Her late day look though, the shoes! :swoon:

Meghan didn't have a hat on at the earlier engagement. She wore a dark green dress and coat but no hat.

At the later service in Westminster Abbey she wore the off white coat and dress with a small white hat.

I stand corrected :) So let me be clear - didn't like the white hat but liked the rest of the outfit (luvs me some Victoria Beckham) but the shoes earlier with the slingback I loved.

Agree about the hat- it looked too small to be honest. Also the slingbacks from the earlier outfit were gorgeous but even higher than the ones she wore to the Abbey. How she - and Kate before her - manage to walk on those high heels whilst heavily pregnant is a skill. I know both ladies are use to.high heels but with the centre of gravity off centre like that I worry they may fall.

It's only people like me (aka klutzes) who only wear low heels or wedges who fall. :shuffle:

Kate's red ensemble is gorgeous - very regal. I would wear Camilla's outfit - hat and all, stunning color. The Queen is adorable, always, Megan's hat looks like a 1950's nurse's cap and like @taf2002 I marvel at women wearing heels. Two inch heels are my max, and they have to be chunky to support my size.

eta....so I flip over to facebook after making this post, and BOOM - an ad for nice sensible wedge heeled shoes!

Not only that but there's also a photo of her in the green dress where she's bent down to child's level!

The heels look daunting to say the least. How can they possibly be comfortable?

Anyone can look younger than C and C?

The only Charlottes I've known who were born in the '50's and later were called Charlotte. The Chars were always Charlenes.

I didn't connect the Lotties, Lottes, and Lottas with Charlotte, but knew personally and from literature a bunch of them from prior generations who were of German/Swiss/Austrian descent.
